2.5 years later, a reply.

I grabbed a kit from Centerfire.
So, I'm worked up about a semi-build.
Seems like these cycle at a semi rate at they are, but,
to be sure, a conversion is in the plans.

Looks at this barrel and op-rod.
It's a beast. There are (3) holes drilled into the barrel,
about 1/4" diameter. I think I have a remedy.

Wish I could have picked one up when they had them. Wouldn't shoot it much but one hell of a conversation piece.

The Russian .50 cal is 12.7 x 108mm as opposed to .50 BMG,
12.7 x 99mm.

I am thinking in terms of shortening the chamber end, and receiver front end,
by 9mm. If the cartridge necks, US/Soviet, is the same angle, then I should be
able to use the more common .50 BMG in the DSHK.

The barrel pin/stop recess on the receiver, was slashed by the blow torch, so shifting it rearward 9mm shouldn't be a problem. This has some similarities
with the DP-28 closed bolt system.

LOL, 2.5 years, better late than never, i took a M2 barrel and wacked the chamber off, bored the DsHk chamber and pin and welded the M2 chamber in, it shoots and ejects, but am having some feed issues, its sitting upstairs, takes up a lot of space on its tri pod
