this may be the right spot, I need a cpl of ammo can openers bcuz I don't have any. I bought some czech siler tip from a vendor at a show and he said it was in the crate he thought but it wasn't but show is to far to go back at that time. Anyone have a cpl for sale or another solution (I was thinking maybe a p-38 might work but grudgingly so...ouch!!!);)

I never have any luck with the can openers. I use a wide wood chisel and a hammer. Put the flat side toward the outside edge of the can and angle the chisel back from the direction you want to go. Tap your way around, reseting the chisel each time before you drive it all the way in.

Use a grinder or disc sander.Just grind down the upper edge of the fold just enough to be able to pop the lid out. The can and lid can actually be reused by adding a handle to the lid. It can be resealed by using epoxy or another sealer.

speaking of bayo's can the cetme bayo be sharpened real good and used as a camp knife/hunting knife? I heard they where pretty good so was just wondering, also what's a good way to sharpen them?

I used a cetme bayo and hammer to open a spam can of ammo. The bayo never gave it a second thought, worked great. Actualy easier than the supplied can opener.

The paratech Pry-axe and a hammer. the Chisel/hammer combo is quick too.

Depends on how bad the blade is, mill file if it's really dull, then steel or stone it for a final touch up. Not the highest quality of steel, but not bad for the price.

Next gun show I am going to try and sell a few as ammo can openers...
