Well I finally got my internals back from Sherman, and convinced him to stop by for a visit. While he was here I had help getting the final touches finished up on his newest design. This thing ROCKS!!! ;D
I skipped work last week and took it out for a trial run as it was beautiful outside. After adjusting the fusee several times I think I have it dialed in. I was using SG43 belts which worked fine but will try my Schwarzlose belts next time per Dolf's advice. I didn't make any steam as I only took one belt with me, but there is always the next time. The only malfunction was at the beginning until the spring tension was corrected. I did take pictures so you can see how it turned out. Thanks to Sherman another Maxim lives again. He unfortunately didn't get to stay until when I got it to the range. But it works!!! I will post more pictures of the new design when I get the time, but trust me it is an improvement. :P

Ps. The book you see in the pictures is Dolf's "The Devils Paintbrush" which I highly recommend if you have a Maxim.

Thanks for the pictures, Sherman build a very nice gun.

I have a couple of parts kits that need to be built. I got the side plates and the semi kit from Sherman. I was going to get him to build it, but then decided to do it my self. It has never happened, so I guess I need to find all the parts and see if he will still build them for me.

Thanks for the reminder.

Love it, one of my all time favorite weapons. I would love to see one steam for real.
By the way I like that shade of Olive, it looks very Soviet.

Thanks for all the kind comments, I really do love it too. One of my favorites.
And just so you know..... I only had Sherman's help with the design and some assembly.
I did the rest myself. One things for sure......I couldn't have done it without him. :encouragement:
