All,
I've been looking for an FMP for a while now. MWDG3 (from the old site) had me interested in his but he sold it. I'm still interested in his SAR8 but can't get in touch with him.
I've recently found another FMP that I'm interested in on Gunbroker (Item # 67424099). http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=67424099
"An almost new FMP built HK91 in .308. Has a few small marks from a scope mount. Has the original flash suppressor and is in excellent condition. All parts are HK marked. These rifles were built in Portugal under HK license. A rare collectible! Two steel 20rd HK mags are included. Buyer pays $20 shipping."
The receiver is stamped as follows:
Right side: INTERORDNANCE OF AMERICA LP/MONROE NC/MADE IN PORTUGAL/.308 WIN
Left side: FMP
I've never seen one stamped like this, particularly the "INTERORDNANCE OF AMERICA LP/MONROE NC/MADE IN PORTUGAL/.308 WIN". I am aware of FMPs but not the IOA version. I don't claim to be all that knowledgeable on the history of the different version since the bans so what I need to know is:
Is it authentic?
Is it legal to own as is?
Is the barrel a real "HK style" cold hammer forged barrel?
Also, I don't see a serial number.
The price seems OK but I am not interested in anything illegal.
Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for the help I know I'll receive,
Jeff
