You're forgetting about RCM... Rosie Counter Measures. What if your opponent is wearing a Rosie MASK w/sunglasses when you illuminate that proverbial "dark alley" with your puke-stick? Another tragic case of somebody's own weapon being taken from them and used for more evil.
