What parts must be changed out for a CETME to use a G3 .22 kit? Don't remember from previous discussions. Would the kit and swapping to a US g3 fcg only suffice?

You cannot use the G3 22 cal conversion in the CETME. The G3 has a totally different bolt carrier arrangement which will not operate in a CETME.

Rusty, does the barrel insert actually engage the trunion, on the 22 conversion, where the rollers would engage from the bolt carrier?

The one for the G3 has a complete chamber to muzzle barrel insert. The a special bolt and carrier and finally a fullsize externally identical G3 mag with 22 long rifle internals. It only works in G3's and HK91's.

If you have a spre bolt , I bet you can mod it to work. Or mod the 22 bolt to work for both of them . It can be done.

the G3 bolt has a smaller opening in it for the locking piece as the locking piece for the G3 is thinner than for the CETME.
to do this would require a LOT of modification as well as experimentation with weights for the carrier, etc.

I think if you REALLY wanted to do it , and I might do this one day. Is to cut the end of the bolt off ,thread the inside of the carrier . Make a insert of CETME dimentions and thread the end, and make an insert for the G3 end too. This way you can switch them out for both rifles.
