I have a SEI mount, just the normal one, but I believe that with the ARMS mount you are still able to shoot iron sights, which I would like to be able to do. I found one for a good price somewhere and I was wondering what you guys though.

is it marked US property? Henry's mount has that marking but mine doesn't

The early and late version Smith Enterprise scope mounts made with the Weaver style rail are NOT marked U. S. Property or United States Property. If you have a Smith Enterprise scope mount and it says U. S. Property or United States Property it has a Picatinny rail. HTH

I shot my weapon with a Smith Enterprise mount, definitely marked "U.S. Property" with iron sights last week. I have not tried A.R.M.S. mount. The Smith mount is knocking some of my brass back into the gap between operating rod and the bolt and thereby causing a malfunction. The reason I bought the Smith mount was because the A.R.M.S. mount was supposed to be bad about causing this problem. I am not pleased with the mount, but still not ready to take it off yet either.

I do have a A.R.M.S. quick release bipod mount, and that thing rocks.

Exactly like that. Got my parts on order from Fulton and we'll go from there. Thanks Henry.

dpoe- sorry about the hijack.

Agreed, replace the ejector spring at a minimum if it is less than 2 " long. It should be 2 1/8 " in length when new. Roger that on the linked thread. Don't overgrease the M14. It's like Brylcreem, a little dab will do ya. Brylcreem? What's that? :nonono:

I got the mount put on today and it did the same thing as henry's... I guess we'll see if anything improves when he switches out the stuff

+2. I've used a Brookfield and a Smith in the past with this issue easily resolved by replacing the ejector spring. I have never encountered it with my A.R.M.S. mount and now have almost 2,000 rounds through my current rifle.
