I was planning to Duracoat my CETME when I finish the rebarrel but I'm still pondering parking it. Now, I know the equipment and supplies needed but haven't heard much about prepping the parts.

How do you keep it out of the barrel and inside the receiver?
I'm assuming all moveable parts with have to be removed ie. rear sight paddle and mag release.
Any input is appreciated.
I'm still haunted by the batch of M-60 barrels sent out for repark while in the ARMY. They came back with the breach ends so thick, they wouldn't even start in to the receiver. Just worried something will get coated that doesn't need it.

Drine,

You use rubber plugs for the barrel. If the barrel is chrome lined, don't bother with the plugs. Everything else needs to be disassembled, degreased and sand blasted. Wear gloves before the oils on your fingers will screw it up. All parts, including the wear parts need to be blasted. Don't worry about the inside of the receiver, it has to be parked too.

I've parked over 100 rifles in my time...its a quality military finish.

I really want to do it just 'cause I never done it before. Never duracoated either. I'm going to shoot the shite out of it before I even try either.

Just get a Stainless steel tank, I used a aluminum turky pan and had some issues.

Can you park over blued steel?

Ive though about parking my stripped K31 in the flat dark grey, or possibly that green park color.

You can't park over anything...you have to sandblast.
