A little off topic, but I am getting ready to head out to see the movie 300 which opens tonight...

The review I read said something about "extreme gratuitous violence." Sounds like my kind of movie.

Gratitous violence about summs it up.

The artwork that went into the movie was spectacular.

The storyline is nothing new, I think we have all heard of the 300 Spartan warriors who held off 1,000,000 Persians at Thermopylae.

This movie is not quite true to history, and the dialog is very pro-freedom slanted, but all in all, a great romp.

BTW, I saw a very good documentary on the battle of Thermopylae on the History Channel this week.

Oh yeah, my favorite line from the movie was when the Spartans are ducked beneath their shields to fend off the waves of Persian arrows, and one of them starts to laugh.

The Captain asks "Why are you laughing?" to which the soldier responds "You HAD to go and tell them that we would fight in the shade!"

I just got back from watching it, and it's awesome. hardly a realistic representation (not that it was intended to be), but the message is there. Go see it, all of you.

8/10... some corny lines. Hard nipples on the ladies was a plus.

That's the kind of girl I need to find...

She also sat thur a nine hour sheriffs auction where I bought ten guns and put up with the the whole day. She dont totaly share the gun hobby but does let me do it and just keeps moving the piles of ammo and stacks of rifles around the house, that I do get flack about though.

a friend of mine pointed out that the story was being told by the one eyed guy. Remember how stories are some times embellished? At the end he was finishing the story right before the whole army marched against the Persians.
