Lots of K-31's out there but I have the K-11. It's not a recent import. My dad bought it back in the early 70's when he was at DFW airport w/ Delta. All the numbers match. The barrel is perfect. Kind of how I knew my CETME was shot out. I haven't shot it in a few years and need to get ammo. The only ammo I shot was Norma.
Yes I know, this thread is worthless without pics. Will post them when I get home.

Drine,
The K11's are nice rifles and highly sought after by Swiss collectors. I personally like the 96/11's better than all the others but that is just me.

I have a sporterized 1911 that was rechambered to 308 Win back in the 50's. My dad bought it way back and killed many a deer and elk with it.
The Swiss have some of the nicest triggers out there; I have a K31 Walnut now to match.

Tex, is that one of the "Alpine Carbines?" They were sold in that configuration, I've seen 1 or 2, and heard good things about them as shooters. Could you post a pic please?

I like the K11 best of all the swiss rifles (well... bolt actions at least).
I have a K31 that I am about 90% done with making it into a "americanized deer rifle", but Id love to have a K11 to just let it sit there and look pretty. Great shooters too... but what Swiss rifle isnt?

Good shooter but I don't have any ammo right now. I'll put that on the "to do" list.

I saw a nice 1911 with bayonet and sling today at the gunshow. Very nice with light tiger stripeing. The guy was asking $500 for the works. Wish i had the money I would have tried to at least talk him down a bit but even at $500 it was worth it. I saw a very nice beech stocked K31 also. It was the only one there. The guy only wante $129 for it. I told my buddy i would expect it to get grabbed up. Next time I went past a guy was takeing off the butt plate to look for a tag. It had one and the stock was marked 46. The guy bought it. We talked about them and he has another one without a tag. He said he came looking for a nice Mosin M44 but had to take the K31 instead.

Never fear if you don't have ammo. You can reload for the beastie. Just head over to the swissrifles.com and look around.
Winchester 284 brass, 168 - 174 grain 30 cal bullets and some 3031 or 4064 powder and you are good to go. Be sure to not get the Redding dies for that rifle as those are made for the tighter chamber k-31, unless you don't mind mushing (is that a real term?) the brass down more than it needs.
Lastly, full length re-size. The 1911 is not as picky about the bullet seat depth as that of the k-31.
