I picked up a few boxes of this stuff on the way home today. It is in light blue 20rd box that reads .308 Winchester
(7.62x51mm)
1978
The headstamp is 308W at 12 oclock, 78 at 6, and 0 at 3 and 9 oclock. Is this milspec ammo? Is it OK to run in a CETME?

I believe I have some of what you're talking about. The stuff I bought came in a different style box but the headstamps match, except the year.
You have Seller and Beloit and no, it is not NATO spec ammo.
One thing to keep in mind if that some S&B ammo is corrosive. Always be sure to clean the heck out of the rifle when you're done shooting.

The bullet attracts a magnet, and I paid $6.00 for a box of 20. Cheapest I've seen in a while.

I'm just finishing up a case of that and it shoots great for me. It is corrosive, and not reloadable, but it shot very well in my CETME and my Rem 700. I got a case of it for 160.00 last year and would get more if I could find some.

That's what I wanted to hear! Guess I'm gonna get some more tomorrow eve. I use Hoppes Black Powder Formula for corrosive cleaning, no rust yet.

yupper. buy more. just clean it up after shooting PROMPTLY.
Hoppe's Black Powder works fine.
also see Dave's thread on cleaning corrosive ammo at: www.boxotruth.com.
wish I could link you to this, but my 'puter is getting goofy.

Yes, that would be s+b 308, berdan primed brass and corrosive, decent ammo but I don't shoot 308 in my cetme. Samco was selling it for around $160 last year for 1060 rds in a wooden crate...the stuff smells corrosive imho. Wish I would of bought more!!!
