Went into the pawn store and saw a CETME for 299. It needs a little work. I have not brought it home yet as I have to get my license changed to my current address to go through the 4473.
The Cetme is supposedly tearing the rear off of cases.

So is it an easy fix? Do I just switch to 7.62*51 ammo?

NATO standard ammo has thicker case walls than commercial ammo. The Cetme and G3 have violent ejection cycles.
If it has the NATO cross-in-circle, it's quite usable in these weapons.....

The Paki ammo is pretty good, but check for corrosion on the exterior of the brass from improper storage.

It was the hand of Fate, not an accident that brought you here.
Dave :sniper:
Could be that the flutes in the chamber are dirty. So the case is not being even floated by the fireing pressure.

You came to the right place. And man, did you get a deal. 300USD was a good price for a working CETME about 3-5yrs ago. If you had to put 100-200USD wworth of parts and work into it you'd still come out ahead.
Hello, and Good Buy! :)

Welcome Silent, We can get that CETME up an running for ya. First thing you should do when you get it is take it apart, check for worn parts "especially in the roller and bolt area". Clean the HELL out of it while you are in there especially the flutes,"I use carb cleaner and a 12 gauge brush". Second after you put it together Charge it a dozen or so times unloaded, pull the trigger and check bolt gap, It should be between .004 and.020 inches (.102 & .508mm).
If it isn't in those tolarences don't shoot it. Fix it, you know how to get ahold to us.
