I recently got back from a operation with the organization Arizona Border Recon. The goal was to provide intelligence/recon to border patrol about smuggling trails for the cartel and deter illegal activity on the border. The organization was very professional and conducted the operation well. I learned a lot of skills on the trip and I plan to go back when school and work allows it. As a British citizen aspiring to become an American citizen, help securing the border is the least I could do to really earn my citizenship. I would like to ask if you believe in the cause; please donate or buy the merchandise on their website. It really helps the ground operations that happen throughout the year or if you wanted volunteer for a week or so. Here's a video of some of the patrols we conducted. It was 108-117 degrees during the day for the all trip

What exactly did you do? Hike around looking for drop sites or what?

Gathering Information on the drug trails, providing PB all the Intel and deter them using certain trails so they are forced into different areas and thanks

I'm thinking most of the illegal activity happens after dark around there? Not sure why we can't just fly a C-130 across there at 10000 ft, using the FLIR you could see if there is anything suspicious going on. The whole border could be covered in a night several times. Then quick reaction forces could be sent to specific targets. We used to do it after dark around San Diego, catching loads of people sneaking around the border by boat, never understood why we didn't just keep going all the way to the gulf.

There is a period of time before the sun is completely down where the rocks are still extremely hot and your body temp will blend and you invisible to thermal. Also there are many canyons and cave like system to hide in. The biggest problem is man power, it's to expensive to pay overtime for BP to camp out on the trails so the goal of this operation is to supplement them data for free. There is so much money in this trafficking trade that it would take turning it into the Korean DMZ like border to keep everything from crossing

What are their physical fitness standards? Is there an age limit? I checked out their site but they mentioned very little beyond background checks.

There's no set requirements because there is more than just patrol jobs to be done such a as manning the coms tower however if you want to be in the desert for days at a time. It's extremely rough, I'm 20 and athletic and I got my ass kicked by the terrain and heat the first patrol I did. So if you sign up, I recommend you train months in advance . I also wasn't use to the elevation
