View Full Version : WTS 7.62x51 Once Fired Brass Group Buy

I have access to a large quantity of once fired 7.62.51 brass that is going to be a mixed headstamp between Lake City, Winchester, and Remington. All is milspec. Catch is I have to buy 10k at a time and I don't need that much. Brass has been cleaned, polished, decapped and swaged so it is ready to size, trim, prime and load. I am keeping 2k for myself so there is 8k left.

1000 cases...$108 shipped to you by priority mail
(Buy 2k and you save on shipping)
500 cases...$65 shipped priority
250 cases...$38 shipped priority
100 cases...$15 shipped priority

As you know, this is getting hard to find and if you are wanting to shoot your EBR's reloading is going to be the cheapest way to feed them.

Milspec brass has been going for a lot more than this on Evil-bay and whatever you guys don't hold your hand up for, I will put there.

Say how much you want and I will PM you back with details. I need to know no later than Tuesday morning by 6 am as that is when I have to hold my hand up for this. I am going to buy one lot of brass. If you guys speak up for over 10k, I will buy 2 lots of brass and sell the unwanted on Evil-bay. You don't need to send any money up front untill I get the brass, but only ask that if you commit, you follow through.

I'm in for 2000! I'v been watching EvilBay for some going at a fair rate - pretty much a waste of time. With most of the case prep already done this is one heck of a deal these days! Many thanks for organizing the buy!

What was this fired in? Machine gun brass?

When you say Mil-Spec, then Remington and Winchester I'm confused, I didn't know they made Mil-Spec brass, or is it commercail brass resized to Mil-Spec Chamber?
Not trying to be pickey, just trying to figure out exactly what kind of brass it is?
Thanks

This is milspec. Majority will be Lake City, but both Winchester and Remington supply ammo to the military as well. You can buy the same loaded round that this brass was used for from Winchester. It goes about $100 for 200 rounds. The Remington stuff is not offered to the public as far as I know. It is probably machine gun brass so it will need to be resized in a full length sizer. I recommend a small base resizer, but any full length sizing die will work.

Count so far:
Bataanboy...500
SSwee...1000
bullseye...2000
Warwagon...2000
Cimmaronkid...2000
povertyridge...2000

This leaves 500 cases not spoken for. Those that have held their hand up for the brass will be contacted after I make the buy. If anyone is straddling the fence, check Evil-bay and gun broker as to what it is going for. I also don't know if I will get another shot at a buy like this as the brass may dry up.

:party0045: OK. All the brass is spoken for.:party0045: I will make the buy Tuesday and then PM everyone as to where to send funds. Personal checks are fine as I know where you guys hang out at (LOL) and there is no need to go to the trouble for a C/C or M/O. Brass should ship no later than this friday which I believe is the 16 and will be sent by UPS to me in a couple of bulk containers and then I will have to count the damn stuff out for everyone and ship. If you would, please PM me back with where you want this stuff shipped to so I can go ahead and have the packing boxes and lables ready. This way, I can save a day or two and get it in your hands faster.

Here's to being able to keeping the EBR's shooting!

Ironically I read this post, I was in a storage building here at work last week and looked and some automatic delink/relink machines for this stuff and just had to chuckle. I guess its due to the fact that all ten thousand rounds here would be handled by the automated equipment we use on the jobs in twenty five to thirty five minutes.

I havent seen a relink job though here in over eight years or so, the ammo must not be sitting here long enough to require replacement of the links.

SSwee
03-12-2007, 09:45 PM
Do they really weigh each one?

bullseye
03-13-2007, 01:38 AM
No, they weigh 10 then do the math from there. Once you know what 10 weigh, the rest is simple. I used to manage a fastener warehouse, you don't really think I counted out every barrel of 35,000 nuts do you? :)

cimmaronkid
03-13-2007, 06:44 PM
Ok. the brass is bought and will be shipped out Friday by UPS Freight. They do weigh this stuff out and the supplier will give a little extra so that we get a full count and then some. Everyone in the buy should have a PM on where to send the funds. Also be sure to send me your shipping address when you PM back. I might get one more shot at this next month depending on what he gets in. Had 150,000 cases (15 lots) and every lot was spoken for. Some of you guys really need to start looking at reloading as this might be the only way to keep shooting the large bores.

Hey all, I got an email(PM) from Kid on April 25th at 9:18 A.M. stating that his partners, Nieces, boyfriend was supposed to take the brass to UPS for shipment, had doctored some UPS receipts and sold the brass for scrap. The brass he had remaining had to go to friends he'd made promises to. He claims to have contacted the Police and issued refunds, plus 10 percent, the following Thursday. The PM further states he was going to post his response to my PM on the forum. I havent seen it posted yet. And that was the last contact I had with him. I don't want to throw stones as I too have had things come apart when my intent was nothing but good. If you'd like more info please PM me. Jon

OK, Cim is banned and has his posting rights suspended until a date and time he returns my email and pays everyone here back.

Hopefully this is a misunderstanding, but he checked out of the loop on 25 April with the money in his hand and has avoided email and telephone calls. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, but in the interim I would be contacting the Postal authorities, FBI Internet Fraud Unit, your local police and Attorney General's Office.

M1 Tanker
05-09-2007, 06:39 PM
Me either Nalioth...I hope he has had some type of emergency that has kept him away from the forum.

Having said that, I do need to have rules and standards on the forum, especially as it pertains to the Marketplace. I did not come to this decision lightly, but spent days thinking of what to do and had to look at the evidence.

1. Cim ran a group buy, promising brass for money to members of this forum. The buy was posted on 3-10-07. Buy completed on 3-11-07. Money requested on 3-13-07. Payments were sent out.

2. On 13 March, Cim posted the following "Ok. the brass is bought and will be shipped out Friday by UPS Freight. Some of you guys really need to start looking at reloading as this might be the only way to keep shooting the large bores."

3. Then he sent the following PM "Brass is due in Wednesday at the freight terminal. It got held up due to some bad weather back east. I will pick it up Thursday and start sending it out as quick as I can and will let everyone know when it ships. Any extra cases I have will get divided evenly between everyone based on the amount you bought. (500 = +1, 1000 = +2, etc.) Keep an eye on scrap prices as they are still going up, so get what you can now.
Pat"

4. Then on 25 April, this was sent out via PM "I am having to refund everyone’s money that got in the group buy with me on the brass. After counting and boxing and sending this stuff down to UPS, my partner in business and I find that his niece and her scum bag boyfriend took the brass and scrapped it and gave us paperwork that was faked thinking that we wouldn’t find out. He caught it as there were several other shipments of auto parts that didn’t show up and were probably sold to his other scumbag buddies. He caught this late last night and called me immediately.

The police have been contacted and at the moment, they are looking for him for questioning, but it seems he can’t be found where he lives. My partner’s niece has not seen him for about 4 days. Anyway, we trusted them to take these shipments down and send them off as he has done this for us before and was even employed part time around our car lot. He has been over to my house several times. I thought he was a nice kid, but was proven wrong.

I am sending out cashier’s checks over night on Thursday to everyone that in good faith trusted me to get them their brass. I am also enclosing a 10% premium for the fact that you were without the use of the money for about a month. I would send you some of my brass, but part of the 2000 I got were for friends here, so I am not able to do this.

I ask for your understanding and forgiveness in this matter and must apologize for what has happened as I feel terrible about this. I know everyone was needing this. I would not blame you guys in the least if you just trashed me to the other members of the forum as I probably deserve it. I am also going to post this on the forum for everyone to read as well. Again, my apologizes. I hope you realize that my intentions were honorable.

Pat Fisher"

5. He has not visited the forum since 25 April 07.

6. He has not responded to multiple PMs, emails and phone calls.

7. He did not refund money as promised.

That is the evidence and its all I have to go by, as he hasn't returned any of my emails either. Someone tell me I have done the wrong thing...because I don't see it.

Sounds fair to me, I just hope something unavoidable came up and he just wasn't able to get back to us yet. Maybe CRS and then a PD hunt? I would have no hard feelings with a good explaination and my money back. I was really looking to pick his brain(and a few others) about reloading as I have just gotten back to it recently. Come on back, Cimm.

Damn, I hate to believe the worst on this one. From reading Cim's posts on "high end" shotguns and competitions I got the impression he was a well-heeled, classy guy. Still hoping for a good outcome on this one for all you guys who laid out money on this deal.
