I bought some once fired brass and found this mixed in with 750rds of brass. Would it be usable, or should I cruch it and drop it in the scrap bucket? The ;ast pic is the headstamps of tha brass. The Hornady had the primers backed out some.

The biger questions is it Berdan primed? The Berdan primer pocket is just enough off to cause boxer primers to seat low and not ignite through the two berdan flash holes as the boxer primer uses a three point anvil which sometimes obstructs the dual flash holes. Then you have to remove each berdan primer withan RCBS pry tool by hand and clean the pocket. Then Beardan primers are not easy to find this side of the Atlantic...

You know, I'd have to wonder on the brass content of those rounds, I've fired Lakecity and South African and while I hand minor flute marks, nothing to the depth of those. At first I wondered if the powder pressure was high. But that usually show signs at the primer pocket with flattened or leaking primers. I'd guess the copper content might be too high making the casing soft and unreliable for consistent chamber pressures... I think I'd just melt it down and make an ashtray out of them!!!

Oh, and the IK head stamp is Igman Zavod, Konjic, Yugoslavia... not bad ammo.. In the fluting, That whould explain why I'd never experienced it. I only use NATO Mil Spec... Even in my M1A1 and Remingtom M40...

Well, like I said, I didn't shoot that. Just bought the brass and picked those out of the bag. The pic of the headstamps was of the same brass in the first two pics, so I think the problem was not the brass, but the rifle. Perro, yep the indian had some as well. I also found some LC as well, which leads me to believe the problem was the rifle that fired them, not the brass itself. I think I'll crush them and be glad there were only about 30 out of 750.

If it's Berdan primed No for reloading unless you have a Berdan decapper
I still don't trust indian brass, but technically you can trim and reload it
