I just bought a collapsible stock off Ebay and it came with 2 springs. I hope I aint supposed to put both in there but I thought I would ask since I am more mecanically reclined than inclined and its my !st AR build.

Should be one large spring and one very small spring. Only the large spring goes in the buffer tube along with the buffer. The small spring is the buffer keeper which is the small post that keeps the buffer from entering the bolt area. Who made your stock?

Pictures??
Like the guys said, you get one for inside the tube. If they are the same size you have a spare!

If you have trouble with functions once you swap to this stock buy an H buffer. Most cheap Ar stocks use a light buffer and the rifle malfunctions.

How well is it built? I know UTG started out in airsoft.

It was for my first build, The only thing I dont like about it is the spring tube is Nylon looking too instead of metal. Dont know how many rounds it will take to stretch the locking pin holes out.

+1 on the H buffer. Much better that the stock (plain) buffer. I would not own a carbine with out an H buffer installed.
H= Heavy
H2= two weights in buffer, Not needed in semi-auto apps.
H3= three weights. supressed guns.

What are the reason for the different number of weights?

Do they slow the bolt down more ?

They help retard the bolt, delay opening just a tad. The H-2 helps reduce bolt bounce in FA mode. If the buffer is too light, it can bounce back after closing the bolt and cause it to be slightly out of battery and it will not fire.

The H-3 is to severly retard unlocking on a supressed weapon as the chamber pressure stays high longer because the can keeps a lot of the pressure in.

A big +1 for the H buffer.If you want to spend the cash try one of CAAs 6 pos stocks.
Trust me when i tell you that they are the SHIZNIT!!!!!!!!!

As for the springs some of the cheeper stocks like the older TAPCOs and those found in Sportsmans Guide are,diffrent rates.
