I got the itching to get a CETME about 15 months ago. I picked one up that had a shortened barrel but it still worked flawlessly. I shot a bunch of SA .308 and I still have a case and a half left of the stuff but... I found that the CETME was a rifle that I really wanted to like but after shooting with it for a year and stuff I decided its just not for me after all. I shot it with a collapsible stock and wood stock, both beat the crap out of my eye socket and I could never get up on the stock the way I usually do (I'm a jaded target shooter). It looks bad as hell with its short barrel and collapsible stock and it throws down a lot of firepower but Its just not for me.

Maybe a M1A will work out better. Its going to a guy a few towns over.

The rifle and the ammo 1260 rounds in all got traded to him. We were both very happy with the trade. He was a older MG shooter but didn't own a FA 1919 anymore so he gave me 2,600 of linked 30/06 (700 rounds of which is tracer) in cans,6 cloth belts, and about 3,000-4,000 links as well as a USGI 1919 kit with a ton of extras, and let me run 2 sticks through his FA suppressed mac 11 :grin2: I was VERY happy...and my little ford ranger was very weighed down.
