I was helping my wife's uncle install some shelving in his garage when I see this old 22 in the corner. The barrel and action are separated from the stock, and I asked him about it. He told me its been broken for years, so I told him I wanted to see if I can fix it. So I grab teh stock, and barreled action, and he hands me a little spring of sorts saying it goes with it.

Well, I get it home, and the receiver lug is sorta cross-threaded, and won't tighten... it gets ot the point of almost tightening and then slips. Well it took a little tapping with a hammer, and some digging in the threads, but I got it to tighten. Now I can't figure out where this damn "spring" goes. It looks like it COULD be an ejector somehow, and the size of it looks as if it is supposed to be a washer of sorts for the receiver/recoil lug. I can't find any schematics for it online without paying for them...

Its a Marlin Model 82-DL, but the only difference between the 82 and 82-DL was that the DL came with a peep sight in the rear (he traded the peep for open sights because he didnt like the peep).

What I'm HOPING is that someone here has this gun and can do me a huge favor and pull their barreled action and take some pics of theunderside of the action so I can see where this doohickey goes.

I tried to attach a crappy drawing of what the thing looks like... Thanks for ANY help (including if someone can track down a schematic of the gun on the net somewhere).

I pulled it back out and looked at everythin closer, and it IS in fact an ejector. Last night I must have had 1 too many to drink and working in low light because there's a slot for the bent leg to slip in to and it rides in a slot in the bolt and ejects the cases.

I got her back together, now he just needs to find the original magazine which he says he "has around here somewhere."

Here's some pics. I LOVE these old 22's. I gotta pick me up a little old chipmunk or something one of these days to have to teach my son with one day.

Glad to see you got it back togeather.

I recently purchased a Marlin semi auto 22 and it uses a similar ejector arrangement.

Here is what the old Savage/Springfield 87a my father in law had in the garage looked before I restored it...

I need to take a pic of it now. shoots like a dream and all I had to do was put some elbow grease into it and find an old stock for it(which I did for $40).
Nice work Jordan!

If your looking for "odd parts" or even a parts dia.
Check out: e-gunparts.com
They have most everything you might be looking for.
Chuck up the $10 for a 1000 pg. catalog. Might still
be free if you have an FFL.

Numrich didn't have the part(s) I could have used.... luckily, good old fashioned common sense and some picking at the threads fixed it up.
