Just ordered a N1895 from SOG. I have mixed feelings about these performance wise, but I think they are an interesting handgun and kinda cool.

Anyway, I ordered some 7.62x38 ammo to go with it. I'll post some pics when I get it. This will be my first C&R handgun purchase!

They are a wierd and fun revolver. Almost no recoil, horrible DA trigger pull, SA trigger OK but not great. I use my M1 carbine dies to resize the cases and 100gr 'plinker' bullets - also for the M1 carbine - for reloading. The .32 acp cylinder I got with mine works well too. I've heard some of the .32 cylinders have timing problems, but mine is OK. I don't know what SOG is charging for ammo but you might check Graf and Sons for ammo. Have fun!

I like to shoot the 32 H&R magnums out of mine. Shoots to point of aim with them. The 32.S&Ws shoot pretty high.

I shoot .32 S&W Longs thru mine no problem. No replacement cylinder. It might be high like K98 said....but I wouldn't know. Minute of barn door..

Like Nevada said, the DA trigger pull is by far the worst I've ever seen in a firearm.

It's an interesting and inexpensive little revolver never the less...

Yeah, I've heard the trigger pull is terrible on these. I think the design is interesting, though I don't think it was as effective as intended...but it sure was an intresting idea (gas seal). You can't beat the price on these things though for an old world quaility built gun like this.

I've read most of these are in really nice condition. Can't wait to get it.
Like I said this was the first handgun I bought since I got my C&R.

Got the M1895 today. I forgot to get hand pick when I ordered it from SOG, but I think I still did ok. Pretty nice shape and the bore looks brand new. I got a 1915 with Imperial Russian markings commemorating Peter the Great (the center Imperial markings are were crossed out by the commies), Tula Arsenal, which I thought was interesting. Not bad for $79. I included a pic of the peter the great markings to compare as this is what it looks like to me to be. Thought it was cool, I'm happy with it. Anyone know anything about these?

Nice kit. I didn't get the screwdriver with mine. I don't know how much better you would have gotten with a hand pick, it really looks good.

Remember the double action is the safety on the Nagant.

I do. .32S&W longs and .32 H&R Magnums. Federal hollowpoints in the magnum offering give the weapon some teeth.Cases bulge a bit. No cracks or anything. A little cellophane tape around the case will prevent this, if it worries you. Here is a great place to find out all the info you could want about these. http://www.gunboards.com/forums/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=21

I have a local gunstore that carries the hollow points. Here is an online place that has wadcutters.

Those Nagants are weird little buggers... Not a whole lot of power at all, but enough to do a job I guess. They put down a stray dog who had been hit by a car with one clean shot, but I dont know that I would try and shoot anything bigger than a dog.

oh yeah... HORRENDOUS double-action pull, but it would suffice if one had to shoot it under pressure... the faster you pull it, the less bad it feels.

Im gonna have to try the 32 calibers through it.

I got one for my son for Christmas last year. He has an M44 Mosin and we are (slowly) trying to get a PPSH-41 parts kit working as semi so he wanted the Russsin WWII pistol for his collection. Good shooter except for the aforementioned trigger pull. Great condition for a $79.00 gun. Goofy, skinny little grips. Interesting piece.

ive had one of these for awhile, i dont know what you guys are complaining abt the trigger pull, i love this lil gun, i shoot the .32 H&R mag reloads which thank god my dad can do as easy as takin a leak, were going to try resizing and using 32-20 cases next.

there was an article in shotgun news about 4-5 months back on how you can improve the trigger pull, i shoot mine by pulling the hammer back each time to help some, i have a 32 acp cylinder in mine and have used 32s&w but both terrible. I hope using the 7.62x38 that accuracy improves, mine was a 1902 dated one
