I read the first 2 sentences and KNEW before I got to it that the race card would be pulled. The bad guys preacher was there from HIS church? Real good Christian doing home invasions for DRUGS and beating people.
Why didnt the white people pull the race card for being choosen as victims? Because THEY would be called racists! I guess the Race Card only works if your black.
I was reading the Dayton Daily News last night and the reporter was talking about how Ronald Regan was a racist. I mean my God, the man is dead and they cant let him rest in peace?

wow, of course this kind of bullsh!t could only come from the NAACP. that man had every right to use deadly force. If not now, when? they were killing his son for crying out loud, and for what, weed? I would be hard pressed to think of a more appropriate time to use deadly force

while I do think the "murder" of his two accomplices charge is a bit silly, I certainly don't think race has any thing to do with it. he still deserves jail time for attempted murder of the son though, in addition to assault, breaking and entering, etc

the race card may have been relevant in the 60's, but nowadays it's been reduced to a last ditch effort for criminals who are so obviously guilty they have nowhere else to turn, except maybe to taking responsibility for their own actions, God forbid they do something like that.

O.K. let me review this to see if I have it correct. It is O-Dark thirty in the morning. Three “underprivileged” youths break into an occupied home with a deadly weapon (baseball bat) DEMANDING drugs and maybe money as well. Physically attack one of the occupants with a deadly weapon and seriously injure him. In the ensuing fight another occupant retrieves a firearm and fires said firearm to stop a deadly assault. Two of the “underprivileged” youths die as a result and the survivor gets charged with his accomplices’ deaths. Now because the “underprivileged” are involved and the district attorney actually does his job it is racism?!? I just so happen to be southerner and where I come from this whole thing sounds all fine and dandy. The broken justice system for once did the right thing. ENOUGH with the racism cries already. It is about people defending themselves from criminals no more no less. You are right the “race card” is the last refuge for the guilty. NAACP let me tell you what it REALLY stands for.

Although it is nice to see something apparently going in the right direction in Kalifonia, I'll still heap a little bit of fault on... Kalifornia, just for being stupid enough to try to apply PC terminology in their laws.
In FL, and elsewhere I'm sure, the exact same scenario is called "felony murder". In ANY felony, if somebody dies for ANY REASON, the culprit(s) can be charged with murder.
If you rob a bank with a toy pistol and the 85 year old security guard has a heart attack and dies.... felony murder.
So, don't hang some fancy name on it, "felony murder" confuses enough people.... as if there's a "misdemeanor murder"...
