Well thats just CENTERFIRE being assholes! Its I used gun right? They do not need empty shell casing or anything. I would call back and ask to speak to management and tell them you will not be buying from them anymore.
OR... you could save your money and get a good pistol like a 1911 :icon_biggrin:

Why would you gripe at the company and not at your government for making laws that cause people to not even bother selling in your state?
Planning
11-19-2007, 04:02 PM
i guess i have never read anywhere that a company has to sell to anyone in another state. with all the rules /regs/etc. some states have. it is not worth all the hassel trying to keep up with them. it is much easier to just right them off as a lost sales area and move on.
the people of those state need to get together and make it business friendly or they will be left out. every day i read on some site of someone whinning about not being able to buy from another state, but they don't spend much time writing about what they are doing to get the laws changed. it is always someone elses or some companies fault. work on getting the laws changed or move to another state. it is not the responsibility of people from the other states to fix it. we spend our time and our money to keep our states from getting like the states that are anti-gun or anti- everything.
rant off....:airtight::America:

Iam not griping at centerfire ,my gripe is with md . I would like to move but my job in the film industry keeps me here. I can move to KALIFORNIA and have tons of work , but my love for firearms and collecting would be slim. I would like to move back to Germany ,but the gun laws are vary heinous and my work is vary slim.Me and my 1911 would like a cz82 at $159usd in our collection. So we will keep looking. As for wrighting to our congress that is a lost cause in MD.

Well some things you can do nothing about. I vote and I am a member of the largest gun club in Maryland. The club has a political branch and makes donations and is heavily involved in what goes on as far as gun control in Maryland. WHAT MORE CAN I DO? I do not think I will win if I run for Govenor!
That being said, you in Texas are just as much of the problem as us in Maryland. Maryland was known as the Free State... That is before the US elected Presidents that expanded Government. Well did you ever think about who gets screwed by expanding Government? WE DID! Now we have tons of liberal Government workers that vote in Maryland. I tell you what, if we shipped all the Government workers to Texas... you would become a left leaning state too! So its much more then just our fault! You state caused the problem too and we have to deal with it. Maryland gave up part of its small amount of land so we could have a Capital... ie Washington DC. Now the people that lived here for Generations are being forced to move because we are now I minority in our own state! Go to Western MD or the Eastern shore... far from the Government Jobs... and you will find Conservative Freedom Loving people... Then go to the counties above DC... you will find a welfare state mixed with Rich Government leeches.
So now we have bad gun laws and we have companies that do not want to take the time and look at what is legal and what is not. So the good freedom loving people left in Maryland are SOL because they do not want to take the time and read a law. Even if we send them the law and show its legal... Boy thats a good way to take care of your Neighbor! This is not Kalifornia and we are not a naturally liberal state. Our bad laws are a direct result of who the US as a whole elects as President!
So yeah they have a right to do it. BUT I have a right not to like them for doing so and not to give them any more of my business!

being that gun laws vary from state to state, i dont see how any of it is Texas' fault..... maybe if the VOTERS from the gun hating states would get off their duffs and vote gun rights friendly types into office things would change..... Here in Texas, we tend to vote for those candidates that will best benefit us and represent us..... sorry to hear its not that way where youre from, but dont blame your misfortune on us........
the anti gun legislation that is sweeping the east and west coast states didnt come from us........
and for the record we have plenty of guvmint types..... why here in a 150 mile radius of San Antonio we have 8 or 9 military bases(ft hood being one of the largest army bases in the world), one of the largest ports in the nation (dept of commerce), an IRS regional office, one of the larger Border patrol stations, and god knows what else, those are just the ones i can remember off the top of my head... we're up to our friggin ears in Guvmint workers......and i dont know of any case where Texas residents get to vote on the goings on of Maryland law...... as far as the Pres..... well look it up, he may claim Texas, but he's not really from here.... he's a transplant
I gotta agree with one thing though, MD does suck......

Wrong state wrong time is just about it these days. Here in Alabama we will probably suffer from some type of ristrictions in the near future. You can see it comming. Too many bleeding heart GOOD people down here. They are sheep to the media and as long as Bubba can get some ammo. for his hunting rifle everything is fine. I think "we" as gun enthusiasts of the "collector" type are a small part of the shooting sports. Anybody remember Jim Zumbo's remarks about the black rifle?... This type of language only enables the anti gun foot.

Here in Texas, we tend to vote for those candidates that will best benefit us and represent us..... sorry to hear its not that way where youre from, but dont blame your misfortune on us........
the anti gun legislation that is sweeping the east and west coast states didnt come from us........
Here in MD we vote for the person that best benefit us... its just that there are 2-1 liberals... so they think more gun laws benefit us...
For those that understand Maryland... there are three areas that are just completely full of liberals. The two that are above DC... Prince George and Montgomery... and Baltimore City. Now I will give Baltimore City is a home grown problem but the two counties are directly caused by our federal Government. A large portion of these people work in DC, follow DC politics and only live in Maryland because its better then DC. The rest of MD is Moderate to Conservative.
This has not always been the case. We can not stop these people from moving in and once they do, they vote for liberals! So the key would be to get them to stop moving in... How do you do that? Well stop the practice of having a large federal government! How do you do that... well you need the help of every state out there to help vote in a small government President. So yes, Texas and every other state out there has a say in how liberal Maryland becomes. Virginia has the same problem, they are just a few years behind us...
So I know its nice to sit back and say I am from some great freedom loving state but plenty of your people help vote in Politicians that have helped to kill my state!
However you are right, there is little to do but to leave.
I do think any Pro Gun business should be helping pro gun people, no matter the state... I am sure it would piss you off it some company refuse to sell to Texas because it was full of illegals and they did not want to take a chance of one of their guns getting in their hands... so they refused to sell you the gun.

Yes, but in texas thats not the case.... our gun laws arent restrictive as a direct result of who's in office... once again, while texas has electoral votes, and participates in the presidential election as well as other federal election processes (duh, its part of the union)... so does every other state, therefore, if you look to lay blame, it would be better to blame all the states vice singling one out..... Liberal types are in every state... hell Austin is probably one of the most liberal cities in the nation, AND its the state capitol, but the people of this state dont necessarily all vote liberal..... sorry yours does, but once again, thats not texas' fault.... there are 49 other states and 5 or 6 territories that you can cite, but you chose texas, and at least 2 texans took issue with it on one degree or another..... those states and territories out there that you didnt mention are just as guilty, and out of all of them, i'm sure you can find one whose laws most suit you, that you can move to when you either 1, finally decide youve had enough and move, or 2, are forced to because of your gun collecting (read evil by libs) hobby.....

yes but no ONE state mandates who will or wont get elected....... the old adage still applies, every time you point a finger at someone you have 3 pointing back at you..... what i mean by that is since Maryland is responsible for voting their own legislators into and out of office, then Maryland should re think who it votes for..... as far as more and more libs moving there due to Guvmint jobs, well it aint no different than in Texas, but yet we still manage to keep it gun friendly.....
I didnt respond to argue and hope it hasnt been taken that way, but youll never convince me that Maryland's gun problems are Texas' fault.

I guess the problem is the state is dominated politically by the two big cities, which are creeping to take over the state, just like New York is dominated by NYC even with a large chunk of it being not being urban. Thus either you would have to work hard to change the laws or move.
I imagine you are going to see far more dealers having problems sending firearms into areas like yours with patchwork laws for ownership, thus defering not to sell to the state at all, I imagine northern virginia is getting that way too.

Yeah Okie you seem to see. Actually our handgun laws are not that bad. Just like VAs except for a 7 day waiting period... which does not effect the seller.
"..... as far as more and more libs moving there due to Guvmint jobs, well it aint no different than in Texas, but yet we still manage to keep it gun friendly..... "
You must not have been to Maryland lately... I hate to tell you but you are wrong. Just under GW Bush, you should see the difference! There are now small cities where there was farm land... Housing prices have gone up 3 times what they were in 2000! The only other place in the country with that kind of growth is Los Vegas.
MD Population in:
2000: 5,296,486
2006: 5,615,727
Thats a 6% growth!
TX:
2000: 20,507,783
2006: 20,851,820
Thats a 1.67% growth!
For the most part its all Government or Government supplier, workers! Conservatives have been moving out!
So I hate to say it but its just not the same. Texas is just as much at fault as the rest of the states... no more, no less.

percentages notwithstanding, 2,655,963 (texas' 1.67%) people is still a hell of a lot more than 319241 (maryland's 6%) and it still doesnt explain how its Texas' fault.....
we have 7 air force bases, 6 army bases, 3 coast guard bases, 3 Naval Air stations, 1 regular Navy base, a NOAA base, an IRS regional office and several border patrol stations..... we're up to our ears in government workers.... each and every one of those military bases has thousands of Civil service types that are paid by uncle sam and are not contractors..... our population is just a lot bigger.... and while any pres that expands the government is a problem, it tends to be liberals that expand both government programs and the government itself whereas conservatives and republicans alike tend to like smaller government, so i still fail to see how this is Texas fault.... i will agree that every state plays a part, singling out texas doesnt make sense

I think a lot of it (gun laws) boils down directly to how many hunters there are in some states. I’m in PA and we are very good on gun rights/laws here. Philadelphia (the exception) on the other hand is run by libs and is very bad though.
The thing is, most of this state is still rural and we have a huge number of hunters (including me) here and we vote. The first day of whitetail deer season here in my county is like a national holiday (Monday after Thanksgiving). Schools and most businesses will be closed then and Blaze orange will be everywhere. Fuds or not, we need each other. I try to do my best talking to hunters about gun laws telling them it may be this gun now, but yours will be next and most do get it.
As our population ages, it’s more important now than ever for us to get as many young people into hunting and shooting as we can...this is our future. While we are on the subject, we just had some anti-gun legislation shot down today in our state house BTW:
HB 22 brief description:
providing for a limit on handgun purchases and sales; establishing the Violence Prevention Fund; and further providing for municipal regulation of firearms and ammunition.
Like I said it didn’t pass:thumbup:, but they will try it again we can bet on that.

So in the end Texas's population enlarged by 24,796 more people then Maryland. Thats all... in a state with 4 times the population and God only knows how much larger... 10 times...???
We have so many Government organization, it would make your head spin. PLUS a lot of them are not Military and there is where your liberals come from. Military guys tend to be more conservative. Try finding a Government organization that does not have something here in MD...
"Whereas conservatives and republicans alike tend to like smaller government, "
They say that and then expand it just as fast if not faster...
"so i still fail to see how this is Texas fault.... i will agree that every state plays a part, singling out texas doesnt make sense"
Ok, Please read this one, since I have said it a few times now. Texas and EVERY OTHER state share in this. Texas was only said because that is where you are from.
