Ok, have a 1919 on the way and ordered a MG42 AA trippod. Does anyone know of an adapter or have plans for an adapter?

Thanks again guys!

i wish there were 48 hours in a day cause i could help you with this, and give you a product far superior to the others that would prevent you from modifying the original 42 pod - also wouldnt have to remove any parts from it, but unfortunately my plate runneth over a long time ago and i have no time for other projects - the vickers will be my next undertaking, but not until i get big steves firing pin done.

anyways, the way to do this is to take a flat metal block and mill a shelf onto it and then drill 2 holes into it so that this block can be riveted to a flat plate (much like the block riveted to the mg42 to allow it to quickly and securely attach to this tripod - same size and style block)

rivet that, or weld that block to a flat plate and make pintle ears on it by welding thick flat plate to the bottom flat plate - essentially making a pintle that resembles a 1919 pintle, but instead of having the stem that goes down into the tripod, you have a flat plate with a mg42 tripod attaching block welded or riveted to the bottom of it so you can utilize the quick release function of the tripod, and not destroy it either.

if you dont understand what im saying, i can take you good photos

I follow, or at least I think I do :) I really like the idea of not having to modify the tripod and still having the quick detach. If you get a chance for some pics that would be great too. This is something that's going on my projects and todo list as well so it'll be awhile I'm sure.

Thank you!
