What is required to adapt PTR91/HK91/G3 stocks and fore arms to the CETME?

You'll need to change out or modify part 54 here (http://www.robertrtg.com/g3schematic.html).
It is too wide to fit the Cetme bolt carrier tube, and you must
a) grind down the G3 retainer to fit the Cetme bolt carrier
b) knock out the pins in the guide rod and change out the G3 ring with a Cetme one.

The wide handguards require that you either grind off the bipod ring on the barrel of a cetme or you grind a tad on the inside of the metal at the front of the handguard. I just ground off the bipod ring as I won't be buying any Model B furniture due to cost issues.
The Buttstocks of G3 furniture, or furniture made for the G3/91, needs the smallest bit of fitting. The recoil spring retainer is slightly bigger diameter on the G3, so you can either dremel off a tad bit or just replace it with a Cetme retainer. Neither is hard to do. I just hit it with a dremel and 2 minutes later, I was done.
The only other issue you'll run into is that the forestocks from the G3 series are attached with a pin rather than the screw that clamps the stock on. on the G3 and 91, there is an eyelet for the pin to go through thats attached to the barrel. On the Cetme, theres no eyelet, so the slim handguards can be a bit loose sometimes. How I remedied this was to put some paper shims inside the front and rear of the stock to tighten it up. Again, nothing anyone can see, and it just took a couple minutes or less.
Hope that helps.

:thanks: If my wood that came with the parts set doesn't cleanup well I had thought of using PTR91 stock furniture. Adds to the U.S. count and at the current SARCO price, pretty hard to ignore.

Remember if you use the ptr set, you proably will need to order the recoil rod/buffer/the butstock metal parts, You cannot swap the recoil buffer from the cetme to a HK stock set(which the PTR is one of) you will need the metal parts or atleast the buffer from a HK to do this. One of the the easiest way to get a complete set of hk metal might still to see if CTD has any of their hk sets left or some other vendor.

The only thing I plan on replacing for sure is the pistol grip. I really hope the wood is salvagable under all that stuff.
:thanks:
