Well, the CFS kits came in yesterday.:D While uncrating and inventorying the shipment today, I came across something I haven't seen before. Two of the parts kits came with what I'll describe as a "funky" triple, while the others came through with the standard, heavier cast unit. When I first saw these "funky" frames, I thought I had ones from G3's, as they have slots in them. The slots are on the sides only and do not go the whole way up and over the top. There is a hole in the top, for the sight adjustment tool, just like the other sights. There is a set screw and a threaded sight pin as on the others. I checked around thinking it might have also been from a Modelo B, but every one I saw on the net had the standard casting we all have come to expect from a tripp. Some of the heavier cast ones have reinforcing ribs on them fore and aft, some don't. This "funky" frame also is not as heavily constructed as the cast ones and may be a stamped and soldered piece. If I get a chance to clean one up, I'll try to get a picture of it so some of you more experienced fellas can give it the 'ol once-over. In the meantime, does anyone recognize seeing a tripp like the one I've described?
