As some of you have seen on my other thread I have a fledgling collection beginning. If not see here... http://www.militaryfirearm.com/Forum/showthread.php?t=286
I have on order an SKS new unissued Yugo on the way and will probably be picking up a Rock Island 1911 .45 as soon as I find one local, but what else should I be looking at for the collection???? Not a big fan of the antiques and I know I need a .22LR of some sort. I just need some inspiration for the nest step. All ideas welcome.... Thanks...

That's just me. I got a another one a couple years back, bought the thumbhole shilouette stock and bull barrel when Midway had them cheap and put together a nice rifle that is my personal favorite. You can get more expensive ones different vendors, etc.. but these rifles in any configuration are hard to beat. I'm not a price man, I like things that get the job done. If they are cheap or expensive it doesn't matter to me, results matter.
For instance, I bought a Norinco JW-15 .22 bolt action rifle. Hey they were 69.00 when I got it. After rasping the stock down and painting it, it looked nice. Better than that, it shot rings around any .22 it came against. I made a guy sick who had bought a Browning A-22. That gold trigger gun came closest but not close enough. It wasn't the shooter either. We swapped and shot another string, he won with my gun.
There are too many choices so have fun choosing and don't forget to buy lots of ammo for each of them just in case.

Personally L would get a tube fed .22. No mags to load (or lose, they're so small)and man are they cheap! Also i would get a bolt gun of at least .308 or better. But so far so good!:fing02: And what no :ak: ?!?!?!

Looks to me like you need a bolt gun of some kind. A good .22 is also a wise choice.

a 10/22 is a must have I just havn't found the deal on them yet that I'm looking for in the rifle that realy says, "take me home."
As far as no :ak: I like the SKS's better and for a whole lot less. I just can't justify the price on the same rifle (basically)

In some ways I would recomend a ruger 10/22 just due to the relyablity of the rifle, its so simple yet holds up so well. I have one of the chinese 22 bolts and its nice, and yes paid seventy five with scope and rings. Those are few and far between. Other good 22's include the marlin 60, simple tube fed rifle, inexpensive. I also have one of the romanian 22 trainers too, another inexpensive but well built 22 rifle.

I have a Marlin Model 60 that I enjoy quite a lot. A Polish Mosin trainer in .22lr might be good as well.
