You just know the driver's last words were, "Oh, s***!"

I think the driver was ok, it was the TC and Gunner who were riding heads up that got messed up... Gunner died if I remember correctly.

Here i thought that big thing on top was a canon or something. Turns out its just a kick stand.

The driver was pretty snug in his little cubby-hole and wasn't too badly hurt. The gunner was somewhat more rattled around inside the turret and was more badly injured.
The TC and loader had been riding "heads-up" in their open hatches and were forcefully ejected and both killed.
"Killed" kind of takes the funny out of it.

The mountains in the background kinda remind me of camp pendleton.

Wow, that is one very well built tank barrel. Maybe if they fire a round they can use the recoil to right the tank.

Other than the obvious, it drove off a cliff, does anyone know how/why it happened??

If these two guys were riding "heads up", then how did they drive off a cliff?:052:

Could have been driving at night. NVG's really mess with depth perception. Could have been some other obscuration such as dust, etc... It can and does happen. Having rattled around inside of a turret, and smacked the gun sight a few times, I can tell you, with absolute certainty, that the softest thing on a tank is it's crew.

Sorry to hear that those crew mwmbers died.

I saw an Abrahms flipped completely upside down on a dirt road in Germany once. Nobody could or would explain how it got that way, and to this day I don't know how they got it upright.
