I just saw this article about them making a GI Joe movie. I guess they figured Transformers did well enough....but then I read this garbage about it being changed to some Multinational force and even made up a new acronym for GI Joe? :eek::eek:That is f-ing blasphamy!!!

Here I was thinking we were gonna get to see Scarlett looking all hot with her crossbow and throwing stars and Rock n'Roll with his M-60s.:rockon:

This movie just looks like it will be f-ing dumb....If you are gonna make it, make it real...Real American Hero that is...cause GI JOE IS THERE!!!

If I want to see some cheesy movie about multinational special forces with cool gadgets, I'll dig out Megaforce....


Three actors on assignment in "G.I. Joe"

The "G.I. Joe" brigade is growing larger. Rachel Nichols ("P2"), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje ("Lost") and Said Taghmaoui ("The Kite Runner") will join Sienna Miller and Ray Park in the live-action movie based on the popular military doll and its comic-book and cartoon series spinoffs.

Stephen Sommers is directing "G.I. Joe," which is slated for an August 2009 release via Paramount Pictures.

The cartoon series featured military soldiers fighting a terrorist group called Cobra, with characters like the mute ninja Snake Eyes (Park) on the side of the good guys.

This latest version has G.I. JOE, which stands for Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity, as an international force of operatives set in Brussels.

Nichols will play a skilled martial artist who specializes in hand-to-hand combat and counterintelligence. Akinnuoye-Agbaje will play an ordnance expert, and Taghmaoui the team's communications specialist. Miller will play the Baroness, known for her espionage skills.

This news came out several months ago, I'm still disgusted by it. I almost wish the Uwe Boll touch to this movie, so that it may crash and burn, and another such failure doesn't see the light of day again.

The movie will make more money overseas if it is a multi-national force. Sad but true.

i think we ought to burn down california on general principal ;) i understand why they did this because the American military isn't that popular right now, and everything in Hollywood is about the dollar. sad as it might seem, that's what makes us great. but still...it would be really cool if they could just put out a John Wayne-esque movie where Americans just go and kick ass, period. Just for once I hope pray Americans will reject our integration of politically correct movies and such. You know what I mean, there are so many people, animals and things we might offend. Red Dawn has been on all week, I would like to see something like that at the box office again w/ updated effects. Like that will happen.... I just like seeing a different AK in every scene.

I never tuned into the GI Joe cartoon series, because when I was introduced to GI Joe, he was big, and had not yet attained the "Kung-Fu Grip".

The whole thing of having Ninjas and GIRLS was crap to me.

I'd like to see the new UN G.I. Jose movie taking place in Kenya. The plot will be the UN sends a special force unit to get more cheese and wine for the French general. They have to stay undetected through mass genocide with machetties dodging muslim death squads and sewicide bombings. It would end with the commander of the muslim forces trading cheese for all of the c4 and det cord and weapons of the Special forces unit, and, having made the trade, they'd all be beheaded by a 14 year old turbaned fat kid while on the phone to Brussles to get perission to defend themselves. The closing scene would be the King of Spain and the the King of Denmark in a hot tub with the Chancellor of Germany eating chees and drinking wine.:icon_neutral:
