I didn't know where to put this. Anyway I was watching the millitary chanal, and they showed a new round based on the .50 cal necked down to a .416. On the show they were shooting, accuratly, out to 2500 yrds. Thats a mile and a half. Just a regular Barrett .50 is really good, but thats crazy.:sniper:

the round was made just so it would be legal. If they ban it they would also have to ban any 45 auto {police fav hahahahaha}.

It was on the show Futureweapons and the guy who shot it was a navy seal sniper and was awstruck how well it could be zeroed and accurate it was at that range. He said he didnt think he could have made that shot with the .50 Barrett but that the .416 Barrett was amazing.

cheytac also makes a round that's a .50 necked down to a .408 that's supposed to be very promising as well. the round and rifle were featured in the movie Shooter, which didn't suck nearly as bad as i thought it would. (a LOT of the weapons and ballistic data was very accurate)

Yes. Very similar ballistics I think. Be interesting to see which is better.
