I had mine come off after being removed and set straight on the receiver. The second weld - by the same gunsmith - worked.
The HK scope mounts don't seem to like the stamped receivers. Mine has a large round knob that tightens the claws, and it stays put. I got it at a gunshow, and don't know the brand, but there are similar on the market.

And it may well be a knock off! I have seen several in the last three years.:airtight:

The B-squares are marked B-Square on the side aren't they?

Not a B-Square, it cost me $50. But it is well made and has been rock solid. No makers name on it.

I find I have to trim the "feet" of the claw mounts to work on cast stainless receivers. Once fitted they work fine. Just don't count on using them on a stamped receiver.

If you have a CETME you might want to take this as an opportunity to change to a G3 rear sight. RTG sells the a base that can be welded on in place of the old CETME sight.

just for inputs sake... the G3 sight only has one advantage on the cetme sight and that is that it is windage and elevation adjustable in the rear. The sight pictures are EXACTLY the same. I don't know about you, but once I get a rifle sighted in, I don't touch the irons. IMO, its not worth it to switch to a G3 sight, just my opinion, but I like the original... now if you were switching to something that provided a better sight picture, then I might understand spending the $$...

OK, I'll bite, just don't set the hook too hard.
Just how in the h e double ll did you mount the AR15 upper sight to a Cetme?
Are you willing to sell modified parts? What mods to receiver to mount the base? WE NEED DETAILS!!!
Have same setup on a FAL, MUCH better sight picture than factory, screw the elevation adjustment, if you don't have a crisp, stable sight picture, you won't be hitting at 4-5 hundred yards anyway, regardless of elevation adjustment in the rear sight.
My FAL solution was to sight the distant peep at 300, and aim high past that. Much easier to do with a clear sight picture.
WE NEED MORE INFO!!!:2pistol:
