Sorry to ask such a lame question, but is there some easy trick to pushing out the two push pins that hold the buttstock to the receiver on a Cetme? I owned a H&K 93 prior, that used the same type of pin and it was much easier to push out compaired to the Cetme. All it took was the tip of a bullet with light push and out it came. My Cetme on the other hand is a real bear to get them to budge.

Used the back end of a screw driver to pound them out at first, but over time they've loosened up and now I can take them out by hand.

I've had to use an aluminum punch with a light hammer tap and it seems like there should be an easier way.

I have to pound mine out with a screwdriver as well. I suppose you could carefully file the receiver pin holes to make them slightly larger and therefore looser. mine have loosened up ever so slightly over time but not much, they're still a PITA to remove

Small rubber mallet works great.

Okay, here is how I did it, it works perfect and with all pins-Cetme and HK-permanently. Did this on a Cetme and an HK stock for a Cetme. Results for both stocks is excellent.
Ensure rifle is clear!
Remove both pins
Chuck up a 17/64" drill in a hand drill
However you can do it, press hard on stock to force it as tight as it will go with the bolt ass. in the rifle.
Drill both holes straight through.
Ensuring you are still keeping the stock tight,...
Repeat with 19/64" drill. Drill one hole first and push in one pin to ensure the stock remains tight. Drill second hole.
You should now be all set.

The ones from Century are extremely tight. I believe that the receiver is so out of spec from an original, they can't consistently get the buttstock holes to line up. So, you can risk trying to make the holes larger or use a punch and hammer. Mine loosened up after owning it awhile and shooting/cleaning, etc, but I still need a punch and a light hammer tap to get them to move.

My HK is relatively easy to get the pins out of. My Century CETME is a biotch. I will ream the holes out when I get a few extra minutes.

gets easier each time you do it. Remember, the buttstock is old, then receiver is new. if you know what you're doing, you can take a small file and remove the bur from the receiver.
Also, use moly-lube on the buttstock and the receiver, or graphite powder.

It seems that with mine its the trigger guard housing "whatever" that seems out of whack. I is crimped too narrow and doesn't push up easily onto the reciever. It has greatly loosened up though over the year. I'm not going to drill anything though... A brass hammer or screwdriver handle usually does good enough.

Mega Grazie's to everyone that answered my post, this is truely a primo website and you forum members are outstanding!!!!
I'm glad to see that other Cetme owners have the same problemo with the push pins, I was beginning to think that I was doing something wrong. I do think that I will ride it out, drilling out the holes is just a chance that this armchair gunsmith is not willing to take.

but I did use a rubber mallet ro re-shape the back of my receiever and the flange for the lower so they were actually flat relative to each other. This did mean malleting a stamped receiver on the rear weld, which is why I don't condone this method.
