Stag is another good company. I think I heard something a while back about AIM carrying them.

LRB makes both AR15 receivers and M14 receivers. They are the manufacturer of many name brand AR15 receivers.

Thanks guys, my son is putting one together, and I'm researching if I ought to or not. :D
I got a Superior Arms stripped receiver from Iowa. It's like everyone else'. It does have a trigger take-up set screw as an added plus. $95 shipped.

I heard someone talking about 'small pin' and 'large pin' lowers (pins for attaching upper).
What do I watch for here?

A friend just bought a Stag and that thing is tight. I really like that company. Rock River is also a manufacturer you should keep in mind, and DPMS. Between those three you should find a nice lower at a decent price.
I remember a post on the old forum about laser engraving an AR lower. It had a Zombie on the side of it with a line through it. I thought the zombie gun was cool, and really wanted to personalize my next AR.

My Superior Arms lower matches the lines and finish of my RR middy upper to a "T".
Stag gets good reviews, and the DPMS I just got is pretty nice also. Time will tell how everything fits up.

If memory serves me the only manufacturer that has "small pin" and "large pin" lowers is Colt. You needn't worry about others. Stick with Superior Arms, DPMS, Stag, Rock River, etc.....and you're build should go together as easy as a night in Paris.

In Paris I would probably wind up with a cross dresser:056:
(But thanks. since you said that about Colts I seem to remember that.)
