Rep points are given for every so many posts and from fellow forum members that think your posts have merit. If its not abused, it is a way to tell if someone knows beans or is just full of them.

or help folks out a lot in a few posts, then the rep power gets up there.

There are many posters with a few hundred posts or less that have a rep of 10. They obviously know their stuff.

like Sswee there. 340 posts and a rep of 11? Danang!

Should also mention that if you turn out to be a douche bag the admins can lower your rep power points too.

Yep. Pretty much any member can give another rep points, good or bad.

I'm glad Il Duce asked first...... I thought maybe it had something to do with how many push ups I'd have to do on the quarter deck if I asked a newby question.

So the 'Rep Power' is pretty easy to understand and where the points come from makes sense. I recently looked at mine and I saw I had 67 Rep Points.

What is the difference between Rep Power and Rep Points?
