I got my CZ52 back from the gunsmith, no charges this time. I found out why when I checked it over: he had broken the piece off that contacts the mag and pushes the hold open lever up. I was told it would cost as much as I paid for the gun to fix it. I still like the guy, but I won't be taking any more guns to him. I ordered the parts to fix it from Makarov.com for $12. They should be here Monday. I'll test it and the TT33 this week.

I just sold mine. I already regret it! Start shooting that on a fireing ling and suddenly everyone stops shooting to see whos shooting the cannon! Nice shooter and hard hitting.

I put the Harrington hardened rollers and improved firing pin in mine and I love it
but the Harrington firing pin mod does make the decocker completely unsafe though

I haven't noticed any trigger slap. I got s steel firing pin from makarov.com, but it isn't sold anymore. Just the expensive ones or originals.

I have seen the steel firing pins on Ebay for about $15.00. At least that's what they are saying they are. I bought the machined steel one from Makarov.com, they still have it for $28.00. Couldn't find one any cheaper when I bought it.

I think you are really going to regret it when you start looking for another one, the prices are going up and the pistols are out in the world now, sold to us regular folks that love them. I found one in december and gave three times what I got my first one for a couple of years ago, but got the holster, and extra mag with the second one(but got a killer deal on the first one)

I guess I missed that $28 pin, that's what I have.
The deals seem to be going away. $140 new Makarovs from Dans a few years back, $110 -$125 CZ52s with all accessories.
If only my dad had been into milsurps in the '50s and '60s.
I guess it doesn't matter, no one in my family has the interest in firearms that I do. There will be a great garage sale after I die.:p

The Harrington firing pin kit is the way to go. Significant reduction in trigger pull weight. You lose the decocker, but the concensus is don't trust it anyway. Take the slide off and pull the trigger, that's pretty much how the trigger pull will feel with the Harrington kit installed.

I got mine from classicarms.us . 129 or so. Good used quality, but both need minor things like new rollers etc. One has some feed issues im working out, think thats almost done. The other has issues with the slide hold open, but im just replacing it.

You oughta see some hand loads I shot through mine one night. A buddy of mine handloaded some 30/22 sabot rounds, we took them out behind his house (he lives out in the sticks and has his own backyard 25 yard range.)
I have never seen anything like it at night, especially out of a fairly small pistol! LOUD!! and fire shot about 4 foot out of the end of the muzzle! One gallon milk jugs full of water explode like you shot them with an AR15! It is very cool!
