Pardon my ignorance, but are the CETME kits from Century full auto? i ordered a parts kit and receiver yesterday, only to get an email today from my dealer saying i can have the receiver, but not the parts kit, as Century is no longer sending parts kits to Washington State. The only reason i can think of would be if there are any full auto parts in the kit, but i have a hard time believing a person could buy full auto kit for $139.
I am now looking at kits on Gunbroker, but i dont want the Feds knocking on my door. I am a little concerned about the 922r compliance of the Gunbroker kits, as they look pretty original (albeit from Century at some point, I'm sure)
Thanks for any info you can provide for a newb...

The parts kits are from properly demilled Full Auto rifles.
They include all of the full auto trigger parts and bolt assemblies.
They are NOT however considered by any agency to be a firearm, only PARTS.
Century may have decided that it was too much trouble dealing with the restrictions of Washington State firearms laws, and simply restricted sale of any questionable items to that state.

AH! interesting. In washington, it it illegal to possess any firearm part that is solely for a full auto weapon. When you say demilled, does that pertain only to the receiver being torched, or is the trigger group modified with the "3rd hole (?)" welded, so it cannot function as FA? If the trigger group is modified so the firearm can only be fired as Semi-auto, it should be fine.

this is the law i am trying to avoid violating...
9.41.190. Unlawful firearms - Exceptions.
(1) It is unlawful for any person to manufacture,
own, buy, sell, loan, furnish, transport, or
have in possession or under control, any machine
gun, short-barreled shotgun, or short-barreled
rifle; or any part designed and intended
soley and exclusively for use in a machine gun,
short-barreled shotgun, or short-barreled rifle, or
in converting a weapon into a machine gun,
short-barreled shotgun, or short-barreled rifle; or
to assemble or repair any machine gun, shortbarreled
shotgun, or short-barreled rifle.
Do i have to forgo my desires for a CETME rifle?

As long as I can remember Washington state has had this problem, thus ar and ak parts and kits that can be used in either have been sticky wickets too.

would the fact that the rifle only functions in Semi-auto make this law non-applicable, as the firearm and or it's parts are no longer SOLELY AND EXCLUSIVE to a FA weapon? hmmm...
Edit: sorry to be such a pest, but i want one of these rifles, but do not want to break any laws.

The parts kit does include pieces which are solely for full auto in the trigger pack. you throw some away and modify others to make it a semi trigger pack. I suppose you could see if you could buy one without the trigger pack and buy one from PTR. Not sure it that would fly by you though

ohhhh... so the kit is a full auto kit. then you make the shelf modification so the rifle no longer is full auto. i thought those modifications would have been made. thanks guys. Off to see if i can find the correct parts and kit to make it all legal.
