These are not rare but they are a good examples of popular 1940 and and 50s shotguns. The first is a typical Iver Johnson Champion 4/10 used by boys all over the country for up to 70 years. It is unumbered as they all were at that time. You can't see it well but they used a real cow/horse bone mix for the case harden receiver at that time. My dad, myself, my brother and son have all used it.
The second is a 1959 Winchester M 37 12 ga. It was a nice turkey gun very light you can carry it in the field all day and never have it trouble you. I won a firehouse turkey shoot with it years back(a popular event in Virginia)
This was my very first deer hunting weapon, I used it with paper shell Super X OO buck.

Norton, you never cease to amaze me when you pull things out and post. Those two old smoke poles will outlast everyone of us and our grand kids as they knew how to build them back then. Always amazing to is the fact that even on a very inexpensive firearm they took the time to case harden the receiver. Not an easy process to do.

I wish you would quit posting those pictures of your room as it is eventually going to cost me a lot of money cause I have to have one like it. (LOL)

A friend of mine picked up 2 single shot 12ga guns a couple of years ago at a field show. Both for $50 each and they are the nicest shotguns I have ever held. Easy use and smooth to handle. I have 2 NEF single barrel shotguns I have several barrels for including a 19" 12ga barrel for brush work. They are very well built guns. +1 on the look of the room...wish I had a place of my own I could make up like that. Put some Norman Rockwell up there :rainbow:
