If I remember correctly somebody posted before CR.com went down about a friends P22 that went kaboom. Is that somebody still here and can they post about it again? Thank you.

The slide broke up at the front just behind the front sight. It just happened to happen on his first range trip after installing a target barrel and bushing... kinda suspicious if you ask me. All sorts of questions were brought up about if that metal was strong enough for the round. But basically, if you have a P22 to look at, the front of the barrel is solid, and thats what bumps and stops the slide... kinda like the buffer on a Cetme, but theres no buffer, as in any pistol. It broke right there where the metal turns from solid to hollow.
My theory is that he either got a faulty bushing up front or didnt tighten it well enough as he said it was moving after he installed it, and it should NOT move. The slide could have been hitting the bushing every round fired, which will cause a crack really fast.
Just my theory, and Im not throwin my P22 out because of 1 freak accident.
