I have just about gone blind now, reading through all the posts...what a treasure trove of advice....I would like any info advice you guys have about a barrel for my build....Type, vendors etc. I see a couple listed on GBroker but neither is real specific, one listed as a G3 barrel looks like an FAC which I gather from the posts I need to stay away from.... Also see that Apex has original used Cetme barrelassbys for 100 bucks.....Would greatly appreciate your thoughts.

If I had my choice of barrels for a CETME, I would get one of these:

for a G3 barrel, there is an HK one on gunbroker right now for around $130

Get the new Santa Barbara barrel Rusty shows. I bought the Korean one from Numrich. It is very accurate but seemed to foul after 60 rounds or so of South African. I bought some Radway Green and decided not to clean after a couple of range trips. Radway seems much cleaner, ejects very far every time....I guess it is better ammo. So the jury is out in my case on whether the Korean G3 barrel is good or not. Ammo is too expensive to test a couple hundred rounds of Radway at one sitting! I decided to keep it in since my CETME isn't my "go to" gun anyway. Had it not been so accurate, I would have pulled it. I need to buy one of the Spanish barrels just to have.
There were some high dollar US made barrels out there would might be worth a look but would cost 250.00 or so. David

I was gonna sell my new in paper SA barrel, but the more I think about it I think I'll just squirrel it away for a rainy day.

Ok, remember to kick my self, for walking past the kits one or two shows ago, with the barrels in the white, along with a second barrel from the stub in the kit. Bad move.

I saw the one listed on Gunbroker, but thought it looked a little like an FAC barrel from the picture...maybe it's hard to tell, but I have learned over the past few days that there are guys here who know....and I ain't here to reinvent the wheel, just make my first one as round as I can....I hadn't found Impact Arms in all my searches and since I want a Cetme, a SA barrel it is,,Thanks Rusty

I just recently built an AR10 and traded a buddy for a battle pack of the South African Ammo....wow it was filthy! and I noticed that I had a lot of fouling from the gas port back. Haven't had that with any other stuff I have shot yet. So maybe it's not the bbl.

The earlier SA ammo I purchased was not that dirty, but I bought 4 battlepacks this past year, and they fouled up two different G3 rifles of mine after only about 40 rounds each.
Some of the South African ammo seems to be OK, but some of it is also really nasty.

I haven't been on the board lately, but I can part with a Century PACE0131 original CETME barrel in the white for $75. Anyone let me know if they're interested.

Dang me, dang me.....I ordered one of the SA barrels the other day, However, I have three kits worth of parts and if there is any month left at the end of my money, I might take you up on it....If it lasts that long.

I would like very much to find another FAC US barrel.
I have recently bought Spanish and Korean barrels, both times they were supposed to be FAC US.
