The color is OK...but the logo...to me it looked like it's elk hunting time in Wyoming or something, until I noticed the carry handles and grenade launcher. The logo is probably going to take a bit of time to evolve.

I still seem to be getting cookie-related problems. There are two places to login on the portal page, and then I frequently am challenged to login again as I navigate through the forums. I keep deleting the cookies and starting over again, but it keeps happening.

You know, the more I think about it, M16/M4 rifles are what our soldiers are using, and also shold have a place here on the MilitaryRifles forum.

Maybe if we put a CETME and a Mosin kind of watermarked into the image above, it would work.

Everything looks great, it'll just take me a while to get used to the new color scheme. Of course I'm still stuck far enough into the past I keep thinking everything should look like the light blue php-bb board still so this could take some time. ;)

I like the color scheme and all. The only suggestion that I have is to make the top image a little more retro. Maybe use a real picture from a war or pictures of real soldiers training.

You can bubba any rifle... I was an amorer and boy can you bubba an AR, Try cutting your buffer spring cause you think it'll make the action better. Filling your front sight, run a stanless steel bore brush through your rifle bore with a drill to "Make it Shine" andc remove the lands and groves.... Yeah, you can bubba an AR/M16

seems early to set a logo in stone yet. IMHO
i think of the logo and banner as seperate ideas anyway.

a bunch of folks are good with graphics in this family,
some havent crossed-over yet, im sure.

maybe toss some ideas around for a bit......

we did that for the COG logo.
some put in thier own designs,
some created designs from the members suggestions.
then we voted on the one we liked best. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

one thing to keep in mind is it has to look good on a tshirt/sticker.
"think line-drawing" color art is $$$$$$


as for the banner,

i like the background red/orange, and font,
but i see sillouettes(sp) in the foreground more like Platoon,
or Band of Brothers in the mist.
you know, with the guys walking single-file, carrying different
firearms, some slung over the shoulder etc.
(you can Pshop anything in their hands, ak, bar, mg42...)

that leaves room on the left for a mission statement, logo, etc.

M1, what size/restrictions are their on that banner?
is it possilbe to post/link what you have so far, (1/1 scale)
so people can fart around with some ideas?

That's what I suspected. Any concern about people mistyping and winding up at those other sites? The human mind wants that phrase to end with an s. Obviously, once everyone has their Bookmark/Favorite set, it'll become less prevalent.

I belive the decision to go out and get a new address was due in fact that on CETMERifles, we were beginning to branch over to several other types of firearms. Wanted to use a name to encompass everyones taste and flavor.

I tried this last night, but when I hit the submit button the site went
down. I think this site will go just fine, I like it already, the banner is
just dandy and I really like the brown/tan background as it is very
easy on the eyes. I like the set-up of the different forums and it is
starting to feel like a new home, I plan on kicking off the shoes and

Steve, go to the computer store (any computer store) and tell them you want a computer manufactured AFTER the turn of the century.

That should fix the problems with viewing the site. :D

As an unbiased test, I called my wife and over to the computer to look at the banner. My wife's first words were "Is he holding him at gunpoint?" I shooed her away, got my daughter to take off the Ipod headphones and tried the same with her. She asked if he snuck up on the machine gunner because the machine gun was so loud? Steve, open your RIGHT eye. Did that fix it? Otherwise go into control panel and then display. Click on settings and change your resolution.

In windows, just right click with the mouse anywhere there isnt anything to open after start up, there should be an option to change display settings there too.
