I am interested in refinishing the wood stock on the CETME that I am building. What is the best way to seperate the wood from the metal parts on the buttstock without damaging either one? Is it worth the trouble, or should I look for new wood somewhere else? Thanks in advance, for any help that you guys can give!

All you need is a large screw driver to take the screw inside the butt stock out; when you have the screw out all you need to do is slowly rock the metal back and forth while pulling it off. Be patient, took me a while to get the metal off.
Also, if you cant get it started to come off, tap the metal on the top part with a rubberized hammer until you get enough space to rock it off.

The forearm caps are just a press fit, but can tear up the wood pretty good getting them off.
Depending what you are doing and how far down the wood is being stripped, you can also just tape up the metal.

Love that grip genocide...
btw to the OP, my screw is so tight, I couldnt get the puppy off without getting that huge flathead, putting it in there, and putting an adjustable wrench on the handle and turning it off while pressing with all my might.
Good luck with it, and be patient... you dont want to crack the wood or anything by getting too forceful. give that cap a good smack, and then work it slowly.

Thanks, its the best accessory I've bought for my Cetme. Believe it or not I bought it from Florida gun works back when they were the only ones that had them in stock. They actualy shipped it on time=)

Thanks guys, The buttstock came apart last night(Big screwdriver lots of patience and easy done it). The forearm will be attemted tonight. I am planning to take the wood all the way down to get as much of the wood color back and steam out as many of the large dents and handling marks as I can. I am also going to be using up the last of my Brownells Gun Kote and bake it on(Thus the reason to seperate the wood from the metal). I'll post a photo as soon as I get it done. Thanks again!
