I'm doing a build and have a JLD g-3 butstock and was wondering if I can use the Cetme buffer on it. What would have to be done to it.

The buffer plate is different, it will require some fitting. The wood stock CETME's didn't have a buffer. Later synthics did. A better buffer is the JLD PTR91 Comfort, goes for 44.00. Or just buy one of the Cheaper than dirt HK stock sets. Comes with all the metal & buffer for around 20.00... Or better yet go to http://www.robertrtg.com/g3.html and he sells the g3 buffer for $6.00 and you'll know it will fit...

My wood stocked CETME had a buffer. It was stiff though. I opened it up, cleaned it and put a new aftermarket rubber replacement inside it.

BlackJack Buffers (http://www.blackjackbuffers.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65&products_id=187)

Works in a G3 buffer as well. Made an appreciable difference in perceived recoil for my CETME.

I went out and checked both of my wood butt stock models. Nether has a buffer.

What is holding the buttstock to the recoil assembly without any buffer assembly in them? :blink2:

The plate is screwed from the plate directly to the wood stock. I'l take pictures tomorrow. The buttstock is held by a screw kind of like the FAL, I use a long shank screw driver to take the main screw off. Then there is one small screw inside the stock plate. That's screwed direcly into the wood to...
