:wtfflag: I am trying to watch a movie and get to the usual 5 minute commerical break and I get in this order a commerical for a birth control ring, a drug ad for pms, a drug ad for pmdd, a drug ad for menopause and a tampon commerical!:wtfflag: Why can't I have my beer commericals here:cheers: , or at least an ad for something masculine. Normally I don't mind or pay attention to these:sleep: , but 5 in a row? Give me a break! What ever happened to equal representation? It would be nice to see Remington out hawking their wares on TV, so why don't they? Is there some law that says they can't? I see all kinds of clothing ads for women, so why doesn't Cabela's have an add for their specials. I know I am being a little silly but why not?

Yeh, you must be watching Bridges of Madison County too! :icon_razz:
Personally, I am more horrified by all the Viagra-type ads on TV .... they make me scared to get old!

CK.
I am becoming concerned about you. You know, the first step in true understanding is to get in touch with your feminine side. Usually the first example of that transformation is becoming aware and possibly rebelling.
I think you simply are starting to become aware and deep down wish to become politically correct and acknowledge that equality of women and their special problems.
NOW, if you think I meant any of this you are in touch!

Aw just watch comedy central at night, after eight or so every commerical break has one of the "girls gone wild" ads.
P.S. at least you didnt get one of the "guys gone wild" ads there.
Larry the cable guy always said that it will get more interesting watching nascar as womens products back more cars racing too.

LMAO! THat was my thought!
CK< I've given up TV, don't have cable. I do have a DVD player and VCR (still) and prefer that over TV because:
1. NO COMMERCIALS!
2. No edited for TV (content, time, whatever wrecks a god movie and makes you wanna rent it anyhow)
3. I AM the TV GUIDE! I decide what plays and when.
4. Movies are 99% more likey to beat TV serial programming by design. They get a huuuge budget, and have to make a product that sells. TV writers are serial writers, work with a moderate to light budget, and have to write to string the watcher along. More chance for filler here.
Now, I am not knocking the History channel, Discover channel, Nat'l Geographic channel, etc...these shows have good content. but I have friends who can tpae or tivo them for me.
Those channels are the beef. the rest are the textured soy protein and cartilage (filler) of the TV viewership.
