I figured for the low price and lack of much description, the FR-8 I bought off another board was non-matching and maybe a sewer pipe. But the seller wasn't asking much for it, so I figured what the heck.
It showed up today and is all matching and has a great bore!!!!!! La Coruna 1950. Good looking wood. Looks finished with something. Don't know if that's original. Metal finish is 95%. No rust. Very clean!! Came in a gun sock, wrapped in bubble wrap, packed in styrofoam peanuts. Gotta dig this seller!!
Score another shot for Longhorn baby!!!!

Lucky man! I really want one of these too. Is that the original finish on the stock or has it been redone?

Used to be on my list, but I can never find one for the price I'm willing to pay for it.
(Actually, I have the same prob with other firearms as well...maybe I'm too frugal.)

I'd like to know that too. I don't know if the Spanish put a heavy finish on it. It appears to have a shellac maybe?!?

I was surprised how handy the rifle feels.
Not clunky at all.
Very light weight and manuverable.
Good bush gun for a boltgun..

I do not believe that is the original finish. My first c & r was a FR8 two years ago. I paid 170.00. This past weekend, a friend of mine picked up a beautiful FR8 at the Harrisburg show for 200.00. They have been appearing sporatically at local shows in the 300.00 range. I love mine, but it is a knuckle buster on the rear sight.

I like it you lucky dog.. I like it. Now did they issue those to rear area and support troops in the 1950s/60s. Was it a police issue rifle as well?
(Jorge can you tell us?)
