Is there a differance between the stock bolt/bolt carrier and the full auto ones sold by RTG parts?

Do I need to mod the FA parts to work in a stock CETME?

The slot on the bottom of the FA carrier stops before it gets to the back of the carrier. This is easily modified into SA by continuing the cut of the slot alll the way to the back of the bolt carrier so it can't be caught by the interrupter.

I have one of each carrier...I wish I had a digi cam pic for you...maybe for tomorrow.

It is an easy mod to make.

I've read that it's not required by law to make that change. Of course in some states, that wouldn't be true. furthermore, I'm not 100% percent sure it's true in the first place. Not being sure, i went ahead and made the cut. I'd like to know though cause it kind of seems like a pity.

from what i understand the cut is there so that the semi carrier wont work with an FA trigger group.the cut keeps the auto sear from working as designed.

my guess would be that an uncut carrier would be a machine gun part and would not be legal.

If you've read it, it was an unfounded claim. The only approved ATF specs show that piece being machined whether it makes a difference or not. It needs to be done to be legal per ATF even though the carrier can't make anything FA without all the trigger components that we have to butcher inthe conversion.

I beg to differ, the bolt carrier does not need to be modified. Vector sells their semi HK clones with the sear trip ramp still intact on the BC.

I have a Century CETME where they modified the carrier in the manner shown in the pic above.

What I want to know is, can somebody point me to an official ATF document that addresses the issue of the carrier? Surely somebody has a copy of it if it exists at all.

Are you trying to use the G-3 parts he is selling in a CETME, if so, there is a problem, the bolt head and bolt carrier are not interchangeable between the two, as per his compatablity page here.

No, the below HK parts will not work on a Cetme:
Trunions No
Bolt Carriers No
Locking Lever for bolt carrier No
Bolt Head No
Locking Piece No
Cocking Tube No
Support for Cocking Handle No
Recoil Buffer No unless using HK buttstock
individual fire control group parts like trigger, sear, hammer: No

1. That cut in the carrier
2. Modified hammer
3. Block in the magwell/trig pack to prevent the FA trig pk. components

not trying to use a G-3 bolt in a CETME, I know better. Got a FA bolt carrier coming in a trade so I wanted to figure out if it could in any way be considered a conversion part.
