Hello, all. I post under cavetech since it combines cave diving with IT stuff.
This is my first post here. I'm C&R and enjoy collecting and mil-surp rifle shooting and comparasons. I'm about to shoot my first Garand and vintage military rifle matches.
I'm building two custom K. Kale Mauser based rifles right now and should have them finished in a month or two.
Thanks, Steve

Hi Randy:
I taught cave diving for 12 years in Florida and the Yucatan Jungle. We may know each other it is a small community.
I sat on the BOD of the NACD and served as their safety officer for 12 years. I used to live near Peacock Springs before being forced to retire. Too much DCS.

Uh, you asked for it. I'm documenting the builds as sort of a tutorial. It's gotten kind of large. Here is a link:
LINK (http://forum.ramanon.com/showthread.php?t=43983)
My barrels are almost ready. I just have to drill and tap for scope mounts if the darn jig would come off backorder and get to me.
Hope the link to another site is OK here. It won't take long to figure out the forums of ramanon are mine. That's why my long winded builds are there. I mean no offense.

Mike O'leary was my instructor from Cavern to full cave in 10 gruelling days straight! Do you know Bill Rennicker at his place and Mary over at Dive Outpost? The whole bunch down there is great! I like the sandwiches accross the intersection from Bill's place! It's always fun diving there even with the occassional Gator and the swimming snakes!:icon_mrgreen:

Mike and I have been cavediving buddies since 1987. We used to drive from NY/NJ to FL for intensive diving. He and I used to dive Diepolder at 240' on air along with Dustin. That was before we had mixed gasses or even oxygen to deco on. Mike and I have done some terrific dives together. He is the best.
Mike and I did one in Peacock III to 200' in a total silt out. With deco it was a four hour dive. I was in a dry suit and couldn't p**. I headed for the nearest bush after that dive!
I used to live on Telford Spring Road. Cathy at the Dive Outpost was my backyard neighbor.
The other guy, I don't like. His practices handling the mixing of high pressure gasses has been unsafe. Evidenced by four oxygen fires/explosions and one fatality at his fill station. One explosion rocked my house.
The 6' gator that would go after cavers in Peacock 1 was shot by the rangers.
It was always good times in the caves!

Small world is right. John Orlowski was my instructor and Bill Rennicker filled all the tanks. Although we were in the Peacock most of the time, we got to go dive 5 or 6 other systems.
