"Baljit Singh Sethi said a shortage of ammunition for air weapon competitors was hampering preparations."

You need a license to import pellets?
They don't have WallyWorlds in India, I guess.

speaking of india, iirc, it was there that i just heard of a program they have going to curb the population explosion, if you voulenteer to get a vascectomy (sp?? "fixed") they will speed your weapons permit through faster.

wtf is going on wiht the firearms situation over there?!?!?!!?

So I didn't read it all... Theres a shortage of shotshells but maybe not cartridges. But my Enfield 2a was probably deployed w/o ammo "thats what it looks like.." Its old, beat up and repainted all the while sporting a mirror bore.

I don't know about any other former British colonies, but Hong Kong has a tight control over air rifles/pistols

Anything that has a muzzle energy over 2j will be considered a firearm. Basically my Benjamin pistol I have here would be considered a firearm, and I would have serious charges brought to me.

you'd about cross 2j if your projectile can shoot through the bottom of a soda can.

Maybe they should start a massive "buy back" program for their 7.62x51, I've got a couple hundred rounds I would love to get rid of too.

Indian marksmen tired of shooting blanks

Posted Sun Mar 30, 2008 9:01pm AEDT

India's marksmen are threatening to boycott the Beijing Olympics unless the government steps in to help alleviate a shortage of ammunition for training.

The nation's leading medal prospects for the August Games are in shooting, with Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore fancied to bring home a gold medal after winning a double trap silver four years ago in Athens.

However, the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) secretary Baljit Singh Sethi said a shortage of ammunition for air weapon competitors was hampering preparations.

On Friday, Sethi was quoted in the local media as saying the government provided the NRAI with all ammunition for 23 years but stopped doing so two and a half years ago.

"I don't think it will be worthwhile sending the shooters to the Olympics," he said.

"The damage has been done. I will take the issue up in our next general body meeting next month."

Well lets see. I've got about 800 or 900 rounds. So between me, and Big Steve, and Optimus Prime, we got acouple thousand rounds. Who else hase some they'll never shoot? We can take up a collection.

Threads merged, for the good of indian marksmen. Lets keep the ammo flowing to our Indian tech support folks, otherwise we will stop getting the calls from those Indian call centers.

Jeez, Indians, Go to any machine shop and pick up some .177 ball bearings for practice. What the hell do they think BB stands for?
