Could some one plz explain the diffrances in the 1919A4 and the 1917A1
Is the 1917 just water cooled or are there internal diffs as well?
Will probley research this in greater detal when I get home to FL.

I beleive that the internals are pretty much the same. Obviously the trunions are different and barrels to accomodate the water jacket.
Other differences are in the rear sight assembly, but I think that may be about it..

Here are a few pictures you can compare too and here is the list. My 1917a1 clone is a 1919a4 kit. On an original the left side plate is different too.
Topcover - The whole top cover assembly is different. The feed mechanism is the same, but the rear sight assembly as you can see is completely different.
Top Plate Cover - The top plate itself is the same, but the cover is different.
Left Side Plate - Biggest thing is the 1917 doesn't have the rear sight assembly attached to the LSP.
Trunnion - Its different for the water jacket and the barrel.
Barrel is tapered.
Front sight on the water jacket instead of the trunnion.
Those are the biggest things to come to mind. The internals are 100% the same.
Ohioblacksheep makes a repro water jacket, trunnion mod and turns barrels.
Lucky13 makes a rear sight assembly and uses some original parts. Both of them can be found on the 1919a4 board.
Are you thinking about building one?

We built a post sample 1919a4 at work a couple of weeks ago (FFL07/SOT, no one panic) on a Halo plate. It was the nicest plate I have ever seen and when together like a dream.
I don't know who has kits, but if you can find them, buy'em up! Then look for a 1917 top cover, I think Lucky13 may have some....those parts are damn hard to find.

M1 is that an origional ammo can and tripod?

Yes and yes. The tripod is a M1917a1, mine was built in 1942. I also have a 1945 AMC M2 tripod...which is what is correct for a 1919a4. Both will fit on either tripod. Ohioordnanceworks has M1917s in stock last I check.
I would go with the Karma Trigger/Sear, their's are the shiznaz

Weaponeer has kits witch you already know. Have delt with Gary and he is very good to deal with. He has alot of kits. I am on the list for ohioblacksheep water jacket (original repro). Will also pick up the site and top cover from Lucky13.
