From the CETME forum I was looking for a US cocking handle but the links are gone for places that sold US ones.
There was also a HK21? cocking handle for a G3/HK91. What is the reason to use the other HK handle? What one works better and looks better??? Who has the best quality?

www.shop.black-market-parts.com
has the G3 and HK23 charging handles as US made parts.
The HK23 handle is somewhat larger and more comfortable to use as you can get more fingers on it.

Umm, http://www.robertrtg.com/cetmeinfo.html says the g3 cocking parts aren't compatable?

I forgot to say it for my SAR8/G3 clone.

You might want to re-read that page;

Got the cocking handle and it BIG. It doesn't have any mark in it so I hope its a US compliance part.
Now it the cocking handle all make in the US or is just the plastic part?
If its just the plastic part, is it compliance?

The charging handle is just that, the handle part including the metal that sticks into the support and is held in place with the pivot pin.
The support and pivot pin are not included.

Was woundering if they took a imported handle and removed the plastic and put new plastic on it???
If so, would that still make it compliance?

i don't think that removing the plastic and putting on US plastic counts as a US part. The whole thing has to US produced and not just a reworked import part.

Hulygan is 100% correct.
If a part started out it's life as imported and with the same purpose as the finished product, modification does not make it a US made part.
So putting US made plastic onto an imported metal charging handle does not make the part US made.
There are plenty of suppliers of US made charging handles out there, so you don't have to bother with trying to get around this one.

I will email them to see if its compliance.
Where is the cocking handle removal post?
Who else has US handles? JLD didn't have them.

If you got your part from Black Market Parts, then they list it as US made, and it should say so on the receipt.
Just keep the receipt as proof if the part is not marked.

Just ordered mine. They seem easy to deal with. Now for a U.S. Made hammer and my parts count will be complete.

They had G3 hammers listed but no CETME. I'll have to call them and check. They did have a nice muzzle brake though, remnisent of the old Smith Enterprises brake. Not a bad price either.
If all else fails, I'll trace the hammer I have using COREL TRACE, import the file to my CAD/CAM software, post-process it for the wire machine, cut one out of 4140 and heat treat to RC 43. That should cover it except for final fitting. The hammer pin hole is a tight clearance for a 6mm pin and the hammer is all 8mm thick material. I can even switch the wire machine to cut all metric and can post-process it as metric.

Well if you got the tools to do it right, then go for it.
Make sure to remove the full auto sear notch at the bottom from your production hammer as this is considered an evil thing and it must be permanently removed for the semi-auto conversion.
CETME FCG parts are rare as hen's teeth these days.
Heck, if you make a few, I am sure you will find a following of people here to snach them up.

Thanks for the reminder on the "evil" notch. Wouldn't want to produce any FA parts for darned sure.
