It now has 33 co-sponsors, write your reps and write your senators.

I honestly doubt that it will pass.

Dems don't have the numbers to over ride a presidental veto now. Look out after the next election!

It won't pass right now, but there is always a possibility they could pick up more right at the end and sneak it in on us. Make those calls and e-mail your a$$ off. Tell them we will not stand for this BS.

I tell you what, If the response for Jim Zumbos one artical was ANY indication of the power and strength of us gun owners, we will have NO problem.

Granted in that case a guy lost his livelyhood and his A$$, But DAMN I was proud. Proud ,we as gun owners would even stand against someone we thought was an ally that sent us down the river over monitary gain.

Just think the response from us when they try to take them away?

Dems don't have the numbers to over ride a presidental veto now. Look out after the next election! A while back Bush said he would NOT veto a new AWB. Who know's now, if he cares about his party he'd better!

Action must be taken before they can get even close to passing it through. Everyone should know how they can cover bills up, tacked onto others that are of no relation and slide the BS past the people. People must act to not get screwed not react to getting screwed.

The reaction to Zumbo was for a "direct" attack on us and pi$$ed a lot of us off by calling us names we do not like. The politicians are not doing that exactly and most of the folks that got riled up by dumbo will not take offense at new bills or bans because they don't really get the implications of just what is coming. Only in a few places will you get the real scoop of what is coming and most gun owners will never hear it until it is too late, and for that, we will pay. I get out and try to let as many folks know what is coming and what it means to them, but most gun owners think it is a non-issue and won't affect them. Time will tell the story and I don't think we will like it.

I believe it is too late to fix the system, I'm not sure about the rest. :) maybe one will bring about the other.

The crazies got away with a lot of ristrictive gun laws in California. That is a very big populous state. First they get some cities and use them as a bridgehead. Then they grab some major populated states, which they have done. Next is the whole country. Their was not a rebellion (a literal rebellion) over the last assault weapons ban. So I do figure they will try and see what they can get away with.

My gut feeling is this latest attempt will fail (but we still need to keep our guard up). Mainly cause the Dems won't want to stir up a hornets nest before '08 on a gun control issue. I'm sure the DNC remembers what happened in '94 (at least they should).

But...if the Dems get control of the White House in '08 or we get a liberal Republican like Rudy in there, then we need to plan on the worst cause this ban will happen IMHO.:shithitsthefan8ba:

Hello Team:

Pardon my ignorance but if the AWB is approved (God forbid..!!)in the next Administration, does that mean that we are not going to be able to buy Military type rifles...??? AR-15, AK-47, FAL, G3, H&K91...???

They're looking at banning M1 carbines. Not much will be safe.

I think we are okay for 2007 and 2008 but if we get a Democratic president in 2008 other than Bill Richardson of New Mexico, or we get Rudy Guliani, I think we are going to get some version(lesser) "rammed down our throats" in 2009-2010.

I don't think that it will pass but you never know. Complacency is the real danger. I wrote to my NE Ohio Congressman, LaTourette and he (or his office) sent me a response to let me know that he is working very hard to defeat this bill. In the long run, we must all remain active if we wish our rights to be preserved. :usmc:

I dont; theink Bush is a conservatie, looky how much he spends!

Reagan was a conservative. turned trillions in nat'l dbt to 0. THAT's conservative.

LMAO on the too late to change the laws, too soon to shoot em! classic.

Write/email your reps, I have. keep them going on a local and fed level. Also, do what millions of citicenz did after 9/121 and New Orleans...vote with your money by purchasing a rifle or firearm on the 1022 list now (I think I'm preaching to the coir on this one!). Get active in the shooting community, etc. Introduce a buddy to shooting whose never shot before. I wanna see all golf courses changd to rifle ranges ! Woohoo! ;)
