View Full Version : Need a good CETME smith...

I am located in Kentucky and have a great looking CAI CETME. It actually has feed, fired and extracted 100%. But the problems are:

1) It shoots very high and very right. How high? I have to use a 6 o'clock hold about 12" low on a 200 yard 16" steel gong to get hits. How far right? Hits almost 8" right at 25 yards!

2) CETME mags are a no-go but HK mags work but just barely. I have to smack them on the baseplate and the latch just catches. I fear with a little more breakin, they may stop locking in.

3) The trigger feels like I am pulling it through sand.

I have looked at some of the fixes and have decided I'd like to get the tree correctly aligned rather than grind and shim the rear sights.

Can anyone recommend someone who can take it apart and fix these bugs as well as inspect my bolt/rollers/headspacing?

Jim Balogh of Grafton, OH is one if the best. He works on CETME's for guys from all over the country. Here is a link to his business.
