...and bought me an Ar-15. CMMG Inc had a bunch of DPMS rifles marked at $550. So dad said since my birthday is next week he would treat me today. I'm pretty stoked cause I have resigned myself to one new gun a year and was looking at another AK this year and the AR next year...so I still get another one.

Anyway, I'll try to take some pics tonight and get them up on Monday.

One guy there said he sold fifty lower's in three hours! I was impressed with the show. Nice place. :happybirthday1:

Yeah vair that was them. I was looking out for you guys but I guess we missed each other. I was there from maybe 1:00 to 3:30.

I stripped it down and I thought it was in pretty good shape. I'm sure it will fit nicely into the evil rifle collection.

Those CMMG guys had quite a crowd. I think they were making money hand over fist.

Pretty good show...lots to look at. I'm trying to convince my dad that he needs a Springfield M1A. I'm getting close...its pretty tough considering how much he likes his lever and wheel guns.

Did you see a short fat bearded guy roaming around in a bright orange FN/FAL T-shirt? (me)

$550 for a DPMS??

That seems like a grand deal! I often hear people talk about the DPMS as the second coming of Chirst.

Woody, congrats on the early birthday present. Please don't be too hard on Dad, as you have to remember that he grew up in a different era and those were the guns we liked. (Yes, I'm and old fart as well) Have to remember that those lever guns and wheel guns have accounted for a lot of game on the table and a lot of protection from their owners. Hard to teach an "old dog" new tricks cause sometime we just don't want to learn them.

It's all good CK!! Since those were the guns I shot growing up too, I like them. Just a couple of months ago he dragged out the 44 Mag lever gun and I had a absolute blast with it.

But I really have an ulterior motive cause really I'm the one that wants the M1A.

Did you see a short fat bearded guy roaming around in a bright orange FN/FAL T-shirt? (me) Probably did, if you saw a guy walking around with a red shirt, Red Star Arms hat on crutches, that was me and K98 had on a Cetme Tee. Woodman, we looked for you guy's, we were there from about 12:30-3:30 or so. There was a lot of people there though!

Your dad must be very cool. My dad bought me several guns in my lifetime. But he would never buy me what he thought to be 'Army Guns'
A Remington 1100 yes, AR 15 no. ( in my dad's voice 'what the hell you need that thing for, you gittin ready for a war?)
Make sure to remember your dad on fathers day.

Very cool Mike! I looked long and hard at those. Did you get the 16 inch barreled ones,or the 20?

I ended up getting a minty FR8 instead. The right one finally came along.
